by Hosting a <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>Hold</strong> ‘Em Tournament<br />
Bettendorf and <strong>Scott</strong> <strong>County</strong> — Help Out by Going All In! In an effort to give back to the community,<br />
the City of Bettendorf and <strong>Scott</strong> <strong>County</strong> have united as one to raise money for the Quad Cities United<br />
Way. Bettendorf and <strong>Scott</strong> <strong>County</strong> will be hosting a <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>Hold</strong> ‘Em Tournament on Friday, November<br />
9, 2007 at the Bettendorf Holiday Inn, 909 Middle Road, Bettendorf, Iowa. Doors open at 5:30 pm, and<br />
the tournament starts at 6:30 pm.<br />
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door; re-buys are $10. Tickets can be purchased at<br />
either Bettendorf City Hall (1609 State Street, Bettendorf) or the <strong>Scott</strong> <strong>County</strong> Administrative Center<br />
(600 West 4 th Street, Davenport). Cash payment is preferred; checks written out to United Way will be<br />
accepted only with proof of identification. Participants must be at least 21 years old to play.<br />
First place prize includes roundtrip airfare for two to Las Vegas on Air Tran Airlines along with a<br />
<strong>Texas</strong> <strong>Hold</strong> ‘Em bracelet donated by Riddles Jewelers. Second place will receive a $500 gift card for use<br />
at the DeSoto House in Galena, Illinois and a $50 gift card for dinner at a restaurant in Galena. Third<br />
place will receive a stay at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, 2 tickets to the Iowa Hawkeye football<br />
game on November 17, two Hawkeye Express train tickets, a $50 gas card, and a tailgating basket. All<br />
winners first through eighth place will receive a one-year subscription to Card Player Magazine and the<br />
book 52 Tips for No-Limit <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>Hold</strong> ‘Em by Barry Shulman. There will be two raffles with multiple<br />
chances to win prizes such as an airline gift card, an etched mirror, a Pebble Creek gift certificate, and<br />
much, much more! There will also be a 50/50 raffle. The success of this event could not be accomplished<br />
without the help from great sponsors such as the Estes Company, Eller Construction, Night Watch<br />
Security, Trissel Graham and Toole, Creative Decks and Fence, Fireplaces Plus, Steve’s Mirror and<br />
Glass, and the other businesses and individuals who have donated.<br />
Bettendorf and <strong>Scott</strong> <strong>County</strong> recognize the significance of working together to make the<br />
