CONSIDERATION OF CALL STOP AUDIT REPORT<br />

I. RECOMMENDED ACTION<br />

This report is for informational purposes only. No Action is required.<br />

II.<br />

SUMMARY OF ISSUES<br />

• At the November 2001 <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Directors</strong> meeting staff was authorized to conduct<br />

quarterly call stop compliance audits.<br />

• Staff contracted with Robert S. Bortnick & Associates, a private investigative firm, to<br />

conduct the audit.<br />

• On July 25, 2003 the base programming <strong>of</strong> the Talking Bus was completed and<br />

implemented. There are 48 bus routes, approximately 1,050 bus stops and 3,622 call<br />

stops.<br />

III.<br />

DISCUSSION<br />

At the November 2001 <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Directors</strong> meeting staff was authorized to conduct quarterly call<br />

stop compliance audits. Staff contracted with Robert S. Bortnick & Associates, a private<br />

investigative firm, to conduct the audit. Robert S. Bortnick & Associates was authorized 100<br />

hours to conduct a survey at a cost <strong>of</strong> $5,000.00 each quarter.<br />

On July 25, 2003 the Talking Bus was activated on all routes encompassing 3,622 programmed<br />

call stops (trigger points). The Transit District has 48 routes serving approximately 1,050 bus<br />

stops. Each route has independent trigger points and call stops taking the number <strong>of</strong> programmed<br />

call stops and trigger points to 3,622.<br />
