and recovery was generally greater than or equal to 90%. An average of 50% of<br />

CFOs-GM was lost during MAb treatment. No significant depletion of erythroid<br />

or mixed erythroid/myeloid colonies was noted (data not shown).<br />

Disease-free and overall survival data are shown in Table 4 and Figures 1<br />

and 2. Ten of the 16 patients who underwent transplantation are surviving; 7<br />

of the 16 are surviving continuously disease free. Three patients have died in<br />

remission, two from subarachnoid hemorrhage secondary to thrombocytopenia<br />

(patients 10 and 13) and one from respiratory infection (patient 5). Six<br />

of the 13 patients (46%) who underwent transplantation later than in CR1<br />

(patients 4, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16) experienced relapses, as did three of the four<br />

patients with FAB M 4<br />

disease (Table 1). In three of the six patients who<br />

relapsed, third CR (CR3) was successfully induced with mitoxantrone (two<br />
