D. Standards for waste<strong>water</strong> emissions<br />
<strong>The</strong> standards for discharge <strong>of</strong> effluents to <strong>the</strong> different classifications <strong>of</strong> <strong>water</strong><br />
bodies are prescribed <strong>in</strong> DENR AO 35. <strong>The</strong>se effluent standards consist <strong>of</strong> a set<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>water</strong> quality parameters and <strong>the</strong>ir correspond<strong>in</strong>g numerical limits that any<br />
waste<strong>water</strong> discharge com<strong>in</strong>g from a po<strong>in</strong>t source (i.e. <strong>in</strong>dustrial plants and<br />
municipal sewerage systems) are required to meet.<br />
<strong>The</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g tables present <strong>the</strong> Effluent Standards for different <strong>water</strong> quality<br />
parameters based on pollution sources.<br />

Industrial and o<strong>the</strong>r effluents when discharged <strong>in</strong>to bodies <strong>of</strong> <strong>water</strong> classified as Class A, B, C, D, SA, SB,<br />
SC, and SD should not conta<strong>in</strong> toxic substances greater than those <strong>in</strong>dicated below.<br />
Effluents from domestic sewage and <strong>in</strong>dustrial waste<strong>water</strong> treatment plants when<br />
discharged <strong>in</strong>to receiv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>water</strong>s classified as Class A, B, C, D, SA, SB, SC, and<br />
SD should not conta<strong>in</strong> pollutants <strong>in</strong> concentration greater than those <strong>in</strong>dicated <strong>in</strong><br />
