John Dewey was supposed <strong>to</strong> have said when<br />
asked <strong>to</strong> solve a particularly difficult<br />
educational problem, ‘Do you want the regular<br />
way or the miraculous way?’ When asked<br />
what this meant he said the regular way was<br />
for God <strong>to</strong> send angels down <strong>to</strong> every school<br />
and they would fix any problem that might<br />
come up. When asked what the miraculous<br />
way was, he responded ‘We do it ourselves’.
