Combining proven robot technology with the benefits of modern crossbar automation.
Eight-axis Crossbar Robot.
Press line with Crossbar Robot automation.
The Crossbar Robot is a patented press-to-press automation
solution from Schuler. It uses a conventional six-axis
industrial robot on a moving axis. This is enhanced with
a Schuler tooling carrier with crossbar and tooling. The
Crossbar Robot combines production-tested robotic
functions with the advantages of the latest crossbar
technology.
Ideal for retrofit applications. The Crossbar Robot traverses
horizontally on a moving axis that is mounted to uprights.
The space in the press gap is freely accessible for maintenance
procedures. Programming is simple and clear.
Located at the operator’s panel, the robot can easily
perform programming functions. All this produces a
solution that is reliable in production processes and ideal
for retrofitting to an existing mechanical or hydraulic
press line.
Today’s press line automation / Crossbar Robot
The advantages:
• Transfer of parts from die to die
• Distances between presses 5 – 10 m / 197 – 394 inches
• No intermediate stations
• Flexible part orientation from die to die
• No rotation of parts from press to press
• Modifications to part position can be freely programmed
• Simple programming
• Easy adaption of Crossbar Feeder toolings
• Turnkey solution including Front-of-Line and End-of-Line
systems
• Applicable for loading and unloading processes
• Flexible, double and quadruple parts production
• Suitable for both steel and aluminum parts
• One set of tooling per press gap
• Fast tooling changeovers
• Maintenance-friendly thanks to ease of access to the die
space
