INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANCELING OR POSTPONING<br />

A CONTEST TO WHICH CERTIFIED OFFICIALS ARE BOOKED<br />

If it is necessary to postpone or cancel a contest to which certified officials are booked, the home school<br />

shall:<br />

1. Notify the officials when the contest will be rescheduled and ask if they can work the contest.<br />

2. Notify the <strong>League</strong> Office of the rescheduled date and any officials who cannot work the contest.<br />

3. If the contest is canceled within two weeks after being booked, the official will receive fee plus any<br />

travel.<br />

4. If a contest is postponed and it is too late to stop the officials from traveling, mileage will be paid.<br />

The same officials will be reassigned if possible.<br />

5. If a contest is postponed in time to stop the officials from traveling and the school fails to do so, fees<br />

and mileage will be paid.<br />

6. Baseball and softball officials shall receive one-half fee and mileage if the game is started and<br />

terminated before it is a regulation game and full fee and travel if it is regulation. In other sports,<br />

officials are expected to return and finish a suspended contest on the rescheduled date. Only<br />

mileage will be paid. An official who cannot return will receive a fee comparable to the percentage<br />

of the contest worked. The replacement will receive mileage plus the remaining fee. The home<br />

school shall make the adjustments in fees.<br />

7. If an official fails to keep an assignment, the official will pay the home school the game fee.<br />

The Executive Committee has approved the following fees:<br />

Travel Allowance shall be 45 cents per mile to each official with a minimum of $9.00. Upon application<br />

and payment of the booking fee, a school shall be placed in the fee class set forth above according to<br />

the classification of the school in the <strong>League</strong>. The minimum fee for AAAA schools shall be Class I, AAA<br />

schools Class II and AA and A schools Class III. The selection of officials shall begin with Class I and<br />

continue through Class III.<br />

Fees will be $40.00 for each official for junior varsity games and $31.00 for each official for junior high<br />

games.<br />
