Any player using a device but does not allow other members of the pairing utilize it when<br />

asked will be disqualified for a serious breach of etiquette (USGA rule 33-7) by the<br />

tournament committee.<br />

GPS devices on cell phones are not permitted. Use of GPS devices on cell phones will result<br />

in disqualification.<br />

Range finders that calculate slope in addition to yardage are not permitted. Use of range<br />

finders that calculate slope will result in disqualification of any player that utilized the device.<br />

12. Cell phones and devices that allow texting are not to be used during the course of play. Use of<br />

cell phone or texting device for calling or texting during a stipulated round will result in<br />

disqualification. Exceptions: If a player or players encounter a dangerous situation (Ex.,<br />

weather, animal, or person) or if there is a medical emergency players may use the cell phone to<br />

call a coach, the clubhouse or the proper authorities (911).<br />

13. Regulations for State Tournaments are as follows (AA & A):<br />

a.) A team is five players (score the lowest four).<br />

b.) The State Tournaments will be medal play for 36 holes. Eighteen holes will be played on<br />

consecutive days.<br />

c.) The Tournament Director will schedule contestants in groups. Copies of the pairings and<br />

starting times will be sent to each school.<br />

d.) Teammates may not play in the same group.<br />

e.) Caddies are not permitted.<br />

f.) Coaches will be permitted to confer with their golfers between the green and the next tee<br />

provided there is no delay in play.<br />

g.) Golfers will exchange individual score cards within their groups.<br />

h.) Each golfer will verify and sign his scorecard at the end of each 18 holes.<br />

i.) Any golfer found guilty of signing a scorecard with less strokes than were actually taken will<br />

be disqualified for that round.<br />

j.) Contestants must abide by the local club's rules and regulations.<br />

k.) The team having the lowest score will be declared the champion.<br />

l.) In case there is a tie for the championship or medallist, sudden death play will begin on the<br />

first hole.<br />

m.) Should a school wish to host a tournament, the request should be sent to the <strong>League</strong> Office.<br />

14. The <strong>League</strong> will furnish trophies and medals to the State Champion and Runner-up in each<br />

classification. Medals will be awarded to the medallist and second and third place finishers in each<br />

class.<br />

15. <strong>School</strong>s are permitted three weeks of practice November 1-21, 2012.<br />

16. Refer to B-6 for closed season regulations.<br />
