shine bright every day. This year’s theme,<br />

“<strong>Be</strong> a <strong>Star</strong> <strong>with</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Breakfast</strong>” will combine<br />

glitz, glam, and excitement to get children and<br />

parents excited about the benefits of a healthy<br />

school breakfast! Celebrating NSBW will allow<br />

you to promote your program to parents, the<br />

community, and the media.<br />

Writing Contest<br />

Students tell SNA, in less than 100 words, which<br />

‘star’ they’d most like to enjoy breakfast <strong>with</strong> and<br />

which healthy food they would eat.<br />

3 National winners will be featured in <strong>School</strong><br />

<strong>Nutrition</strong> magazine and receive a prize pack!<br />

Use the 2012 theme to make your celebration come alive! Here are a few easy<br />

ideas to make your program feel extra special:<br />

Tape glow‐in‐the‐dark stars to your cafeteria ceiling and dim the lights when<br />

students come in for breakfast<br />

Celebrate the ‘stars’ at your school by organizing a student talent contest or<br />

singing competition<br />

names of stars they admire<br />
