THE
INSIDE-OUT
CLUB
As the old adage goes, it’s what’s on the inside that
counts. SARAH PURCELL checks out how supplements
can boost a beauty regime from the inside out
FOR HEALTHY HAIR
doctor. “For good hair growth the level
less than this.”
Zinc – This is important for healthy hair
oily fish, avocados and nuts.
While hair may be ‘dead’, the roots still
need the right nutrients to prevent
problems like dry scalp, thinning hair and
to keep it looking shiny.
keep growing, and is often the first part of the
body to show nutritional deficiencies,” says Dr
Leonard, GP and women’s health expert for
Seven Seas Femibion. “Apart from protein, the
most important nutrients are iron and zinc.”
VITAL NUTRIENTS
Iron – “Even slightly low levels of iron can
cause thinning hair and slow growth, and this
is a common problem in women, especially
those with heavy periods,” says Dr Leonard.
She recommends that customers with thinning
hair get their iron levels checked by their
