– which is essential to a well-functioning transport system.<br />

<strong>Scania</strong> supports legislation that encourages investments<br />

and innovations in sustainable technology and promotes fair<br />

competition.<br />

<strong>Scania</strong> is active in such organisations as Climate Neutral<br />

Freight Transportation (KNEG) in Sweden, the European Automobile<br />

Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), the two German<br />

industry organisations VDIK and VDA and the Brazilian Vehicle<br />

Manufacturers’ association (ANFAVEA).<br />

<strong>Scania</strong> regularly organises the <strong>Scania</strong> Transport Conference<br />

in Brussels to promote dialogue about important transport<br />

issues. Participants include political decision makers, public<br />

authorities, transport companies, interest organisations and<br />

other stakeholders in the transport industry. The theme of the<br />

<strong>2011</strong> conference was sustainable transport solutions.<br />

Since January 2009, <strong>Scania</strong> has participated in the<br />

European Union’s voluntary Transparency Register, where the<br />

company reports what resources it uses in its dialogue with<br />

EU institutions.<br />

<strong>Scania</strong>’s sustainability report, which follows the reporting<br />

framework of the Global <strong>Report</strong> Initiative (GRI), is available at<br />

Corruption: Never offer, promise, give or demand bribes or<br />

anything else that might be perceived as bribes.<br />

Interest to customer: Disclose product information<br />

to customers and establish improvement procedures.<br />

Competition: Refrain from anti-competitive agreements<br />

* During <strong>2011</strong>, the OECD updated these Guidelines. <strong>Scania</strong> is currently evaluating<br />

how this update may affect the company’s policies and how any changes<br />

should be integrated into its processes. Pending completion of this<br />

review, <strong>Scania</strong> is applying the previous version of the Guidelines.<br />

the smallest possible environmental impact, in order to<br />

achieve the highest quality and long-term productivity.<br />

<strong>Scania</strong> continuously improves the environmental performance<br />

of its products, processes and services. Business<br />

demands and other requirements form the basis for improvements,<br />

where fulfilment of legislation is fundamental. <strong>Scania</strong>’s<br />

environmental work is proactive, based on a life cycle perspective<br />

and the principle of precaution.<br />
