Experience shows that brand loyalty is higher among<br />

customers that have both financing and maintenance<br />

contracts with <strong>Scania</strong>. This close relationship allows<br />

scope for <strong>Scania</strong> to take the initiative for additional<br />

offers.<br />

Financing companies in more markets<br />

<strong>Scania</strong>’s solutions are especially important to customers<br />

in emerging markets, since there are fewer local<br />

financing opportunities. Brazil is <strong>Scania</strong>’s single largest<br />

market. <strong>Scania</strong> Banco Brasil, which was established<br />

in 2010, performed very strongly and became <strong>Scania</strong>’s<br />

fourth largest financing company in <strong>2011</strong>. <strong>Scania</strong><br />

opened a financing company in Peru during <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

In markets where <strong>Scania</strong> does not have its own<br />

financing operations, it offers export financing or financing<br />

in cooperation with local banks.<br />

Continued expansion in insurance business<br />

One important element of <strong>Scania</strong>’s comprehensive<br />

customer solutions is <strong>Scania</strong> Insurance. This service can<br />

offer the customer a package price that, aside from the<br />

vehicle, includes comprehensive insurance coverage<br />

and an efficient claims management service and rapid<br />

repairs, with access to <strong>Scania</strong>’s entire service network,<br />

all aimed at minimising downtime and lost revenue for<br />

the customer.<br />

In <strong>2011</strong>, <strong>Scania</strong> also started selling insurance solutions<br />

to customers that have not arranged financing via<br />

<strong>Scania</strong>. This means a considerable expansion of the<br />

market and potential for further growth. For customers<br />

that combine an insurance agreement with a maintenance<br />

agreement, <strong>Scania</strong> can offer very attractive<br />

premiums and higher uptime, for example by making<br />

replacement vehicles available in some cases.<br />
