I. Course Description<br />

This course will feature a survey <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Testament</strong> in English Bible, an exposure<br />

to relevant introductory issues, and some exposure to critical issues.<br />

II. Course Objectives<br />

By <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> this course <strong>the</strong> student should be able to:<br />

1. Summarize <strong>the</strong> basic contents and <strong>the</strong>ology <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Testament</strong><br />

2. Summarize <strong>the</strong> critical and introductory issues in <strong>the</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Testament</strong><br />

III. Course Requirements and Grading<br />

1. Quizzes: Quizzes over <strong>the</strong> assigned reading, both textbooks and <strong>the</strong> Bible, will be<br />

given at <strong>the</strong> beginning <strong>of</strong> class. Make up quizzes will not be given except in <strong>the</strong><br />

case <strong>of</strong> emergencies.<br />

2. Exams: Two exams will be given. <strong>The</strong> exams will be mostly objective, but will<br />

also include short answer questions.<br />

Midterm 40%<br />

Final 40%<br />

Quizzes 20%<br />

Total 100%<br />

Grades will be assigned according <strong>the</strong> to <strong>the</strong> grading scale published in <strong>the</strong> SBTS<br />

catalogue.<br />

Bible: Any standard translation (e.g., NIV, NASB, ESV etc.); no paraphrases.<br />
