2006 Best Paper Competition<br />

Any sci<strong>en</strong>tific paper published by a member of the SARB<br />

betwe<strong>en</strong> 15 October 2005 and 1 October 2006 may <strong>en</strong>ter the<br />

competition for the best clinical or best experim<strong>en</strong>tal paper<br />

award. The board of the SARB will rank the submitted publications.<br />

All publications must be submitted to the SARB before<br />

Friday, September 15, 2006.<br />

Abstract Competition<br />

All submitted abstracts will have to be pres<strong>en</strong>ted as a poster at<br />

the Annual Meeting.<br />

If the poster has already be<strong>en</strong> pres<strong>en</strong>ted on another occasion,<br />

the original format may be used unchanged at the SARB meeting.<br />

The jury will be composed of the international faculty and the<br />

members of the sci<strong>en</strong>tific committee.<br />

Two categories are proposed: clinical and experim<strong>en</strong>tal. The<br />

authors of the abstracts will indicate their choice for one of the<br />

two categories. If no choice is indicated, the chairman of the<br />

sci<strong>en</strong>tific committee will indicate the category. The best<br />

abstracts pres<strong>en</strong>ted by a resid<strong>en</strong>t will be giv<strong>en</strong> the Resid<strong>en</strong>t<br />

Award, which <strong>en</strong>ters the abstract automatically for the ESA<br />

Resid<strong>en</strong>t Award competition.<br />

Each member of the jury will rank the abstracts. The abstract<br />

with the best overall ranking will win the competition. Abstracts<br />

will not be blinded.<br />

Abstract forms and detailed guidelines for abstract submission<br />

and poster pres<strong>en</strong>tation are to be collected from the SARB<br />

secretariat or www.sarb.be.<br />

All abstracts must be submitted to the SARB secretariat before<br />

Friday, September 15, 2006.<br />

PBLD Rewards<br />

PBLD stands for Problem Based Learning Discussion.<br />

Information on two PBLDs will be available on each of the 10<br />

Major Sponsor stands. The competition forms – which you will<br />

find in the congress bag - must be dropped in the PBLD box in<br />

the Major Sponsor area before 14.00 hrs.<br />

The PBLD Rewards will be pres<strong>en</strong>ted during the PBLD Rewards<br />

Ceremony - taking place during the Farewell Drink - to the four<br />

contestants who submitted the best answers (two winners for<br />

each PBLD).<br />

The winners must be pres<strong>en</strong>t to collect their rewards.<br />
