<strong>8.</strong> CONCLUSION<br />
The Annual Performance Plan of the<br />
SAPS 2008 / 2009 is the National<br />
Commissioner’s one-year plan for<br />
policing in South Africa. The Plan<br />
has been compiled to communicate<br />
the National Commissioner’s 1-year<br />
priorities to clients and for use as<br />
a planning guideline at all levels in<br />
SAPS. Provincial-, Divisional-, and<br />
Station Commissioners will select those<br />
elements of the Plan that are relevant<br />
to them, add their own priorities and<br />
service delivery indicators and provide<br />
this information as a guideline to those<br />
levels that fall under their jurisdiction.<br />
The successful implementation of<br />
the Plan is reliant on the compiling of<br />
relevant operational plans at all levels<br />
and the linking of these operational<br />
plans with the mechanisms put in place<br />
to manage individual performance.
