Salzburg präsentiert im prachtvollen
Ambiente Europäische Malerei des 16.
bis 19. Jahrhunderts mit Schwerpunkt
auf niederländische Malerei des 17.
Jahrhunderts, italienische, französische
und österreichische Barockmalerei des
17. und 18. Jahrhunderts sowie österreichische
Malerei des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Dazu werden regelmäßig Sonderausstellungen
gezeigt. Dabei
kommt es immer wieder zur spannenden
Auseinandersetzung von historischer
und zeitgenössischer Kunst. bt
The Salzburg state collection of paintings
presents, in this magnificent setting,
a significant collection of European
paintings from the 16th to the
19th century. The collection has an emphasis
on Dutch paintings from the
17th century, Italian, French and Austrian
baroque paintings from the 17th
and 18th century as well as Austrian
paintings from the 19th century. Special
exhibitions are regularly shown.
Herewith, it always comes back to the
interesting juxtaposition of historical
and contemporary art.

The Domquartier opens in May
2014. With one ticket one can experience
an architectural and artistic
tour of superlatives: from the stately
rooms of the Residenzgalerie, to the
Dombögen (Cathedral Arches) to
the Gothic choir loft of the Franciscan
church.
