BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS DALE A. CROSS Freeholder The son of Stewart and Valarie, Mr. Cross is a resident of Pennsville Township serving his first term as Freeholder. He and his wife Kathy have one son, Kyle. Upon graduation from Glassboro State College in 1986 with a BA in Finance, he gained employment with PSEG Nuclear where he is currently employed as a Controls Technician and proud member of IBEW Local 94. He currently volunteers time to Island Charities, which assists needy County residents. He is a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Old Oak #6, donating his time lettering the bibles for member families. Dale and his wife attend Queen of the Apostles Church where he currently serves as a lector. He and his teammates from the undefeated 1981 State Championship baseball team gained induction into the Salem County Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. CHAIR– HEALTH COMMITTEE ~12~
BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS JULIE A. ACTON Freeholder M rs. Acton is a resident of Pennsville Township. As a Salem County Freeholder, she serves as chair of the County Committee for the Salem Community College, Salem County Vocational Technical School, Salem County Special Services School District, Superintendent of Schools, Board of Elections, Workforce Investment Board, and Salem County Board of Social Services. Mrs. Acton has been active in the community serving on the Salem County Women’s Services Board, Meals on Wheels, Parish Council and Finance Committee for Queen of Apostles Church, Committeeperson for the Boy Scouts, Troop 15, New Jersey Governor’s Board of Volunteerism and Board of Trustees for Family Promise of Salem County. Julie graduated from the first class of the Christine Todd Whitman Excellence in Public Service Series, and also graduated from the New Jersey Association of Counties LEAD program.
