INTRODUCTION
Indeed all praise be to Allaah <strong>the</strong> Rabb (Creator, Sustainer,
Destroyer, Recreator, Owner of <strong>the</strong> Universe) and may Allaah's
blessings and peace be on Prophet Muhammad who is Allaah's
Servant and <strong>the</strong> Seal of all prophets.
THE THRONE VERSE
(INCRIBED ON THE FOOTSTOOL)
Allah - <strong>the</strong>re is no deity except Him,
<strong>the</strong> Ever-Living,
<strong>the</strong> Sustainer of [all] existence.
Nei<strong>the</strong>r drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in <strong>the</strong> heavens and whatever is on <strong>the</strong>
earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is [presently] before <strong>the</strong>m and what will be after
<strong>the</strong>m,
and <strong>the</strong>y encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He
wills.
His Kursi extends over <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth,
and <strong>the</strong>ir preservation tires Him not.
And He is <strong>the</strong> Most High, <strong>the</strong> Most Great.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.255
THAFSEER (COMMENTARY) OF IMAAM IBN KATHIR ON
THE ABOVE VERSE.
Allah - <strong>the</strong>re is no deity except Him, <strong>the</strong> Ever-Living,
(Allah! None has <strong>the</strong> right to be worshipped but He) mentions that
Allah is <strong>the</strong> One and Only Lord of all creation.
<strong>the</strong> Ever-Living, <strong>the</strong> Sustainer of [all] existence.
(Al-Hayyul-Qayyum) testifies that Allah is <strong>the</strong> Ever Living, Who
never dies, Who sustains everyone and everything. All creation

stands in need of Allah and totally relies on Him, while He is <strong>the</strong>
Most Rich, Who stands in need of nothing created. Similarly, Allah
said,
And of His signs is that <strong>the</strong> heaven and earth remain by His
command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from <strong>the</strong>
earth, immediately you will come forth.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.30 Ar-Room (The Romans) Vr. 25
Nei<strong>the</strong>r drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
(Nei<strong>the</strong>r slumber nor sleep overtakes Him) means, no shortcoming,
unawareness or ignorance ever touches Allah. Ra<strong>the</strong>r, He is aware
of, and controls what every soul earns, has perfect watch over
everything, nothing escapes His knowledge, and no secret matter is
secret to Him. Among His perfect attributes, is <strong>the</strong> fact that He is
never effected by slumber or sleep. Therefore, Allah's statement,
(Nei<strong>the</strong>r slumber overtakes Him) indicates that no unawareness due
to slumber ever overtakes Allah. Allah said afterwards,
(nor sleep), which is stronger than slumber. It is recorded in <strong>the</strong>
Sahih that Abu Musa said, "The Messenger of Allah delivered a
speech regarding four words:
(Allah does not sleep, and it does not befit His majesty that He
sleeps. He lowers <strong>the</strong> scales and raises <strong>the</strong>m. The deeds of <strong>the</strong> day
are resurrected in front of Him before <strong>the</strong> deeds of <strong>the</strong> night, and
<strong>the</strong> deeds of <strong>the</strong> night before <strong>the</strong> deeds of <strong>the</strong> day. His Veil is light,
or fire, and if He removes it, <strong>the</strong> rays from His Face would burn
whatever His sight reaches of His creation.)
To Him belongs whatever is in <strong>the</strong> heavens and whatever is on <strong>the</strong>
earth.
Indicates that everyone is a servant for Allah, a part of His

kingdom and under His power and authority. Similarly, Allah said,
(There is none in <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth but comes unto <strong>the</strong> Most
Gracious (Allah) as a servant. Verily, He knows each one of <strong>the</strong>m,
and has counted <strong>the</strong>m a full counting. And everyone of <strong>the</strong>m will
come to Him alone on <strong>the</strong> Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or
protector or defender))
Al-Qur'aan Ch.19 Mariyam (Mary) Vr.93-95
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
(Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission)
is similar to His statements,
These Ayat (verses) assert Allah's greatness, pride, and grace, and
that no one dares to intercede with Him on behalf of anyone else,
except by His permi And He is <strong>the</strong> Most High, <strong>the</strong> Most Great.ssion.
Indeed, <strong>the</strong> Hadith about <strong>the</strong> intercession, states that <strong>the</strong> Prophet
said,
(I will stand under <strong>the</strong> Throne and fall in prostration, and Allah will
allow me to remain in that position as much as He wills. I will
<strong>the</strong>reafter be told, "Raise your head, speak and you will be heard,
intercede and your intercession will be accepted''. The Prophet <strong>the</strong>n
said, "He will allow me a proportion whom I will enter into
Paradise.'')
He knows what is [presently] before <strong>the</strong>m and what will be after <strong>the</strong>m,
(He knows what happens to <strong>the</strong>m (His creatures) in this world, and
what will happen to <strong>the</strong>m in <strong>the</strong> Hereafter) this refers to His perfect
knowledge of all creation; its past, present and future. Similarly,
Allah said that <strong>the</strong> angels proclaimed;
(And we (angels) descend not except by <strong>the</strong> command of your Lord (O
Muhammad ). To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind
us, and what is between those two; and your Lord is never forgetful)

Al-Qur'aan Ch.19 Mariyam (Mary) Vr.64
and <strong>the</strong>y encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He
wills
(And <strong>the</strong>y will never compass anything of His Knowledge except
that which He wills), asserts <strong>the</strong> fact that no one attains any part of
Allah's knowledge except what Allah conveys and allows. This part
of <strong>the</strong> Ayah indicates that no one ever acquires knowledge of Allah
and in His Attributes, except what He conveys to <strong>the</strong>m. For
instance, Allah said,
Allah knows what is [presently] before <strong>the</strong>m and what will be after
<strong>the</strong>m, but <strong>the</strong>y do not encompass it in knowledge.

His Kursi extends over <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth,
Waki` narrated in his Tafsir that Ibn `Abbas said, "Kursi is <strong>the</strong>
footstool, and no one is able to give due consideration to
Allah'sThrone.'' Al-Hakim recorded this Hadith in his Mustadrak
from Ibn `Abbas, who did not relate it to <strong>the</strong> Prophet . Al-Hakim
said, "It is Sahih according to <strong>the</strong> criteria of <strong>the</strong> Two Sahihs, and
<strong>the</strong>y (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.'' In addition, Ad-
Dahhak said that Ibn `Abbas said, "If <strong>the</strong> seven heavens and <strong>the</strong>
seven earths were flattened and laid side by side, <strong>the</strong>y would add up
to <strong>the</strong> size of a ring in a desert, compared to <strong>the</strong> Kursi.'' Allah said,
and <strong>the</strong>ir preservation tires Him not.
(And He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving <strong>the</strong>m)
meaning, it does not burden or cause Him fatigue to protect <strong>the</strong>
heavens and earth and all that is in between <strong>the</strong>m. Ra<strong>the</strong>r, this is an
easy matter for Him. Fur<strong>the</strong>r, Allah sustains everything, has perfect
watch over everything, nothing ever escapes His knowledge and no
matter is ever a secret to Him. All matters are insignificant, modest
and humble before Him. He is <strong>the</strong> Most Rich, worthy of all praise.
He does what He wills, and no one can ask Him about what He

does, while <strong>the</strong>y will be asked. He has supreme power over all
things and perfect alertness concerning everything. He is <strong>the</strong> Most
High, <strong>the</strong> Greatest, <strong>the</strong>re is no deity worthy of worship except Him,
and no Lord o<strong>the</strong>r than Him.
[He is] Knower of <strong>the</strong> unseen and <strong>the</strong> witnessed, <strong>the</strong> Grand, <strong>the</strong>
Exalted.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.13 Ar-Ra'ad (The Thunder) Vr.9
And He is <strong>the</strong> Most High, <strong>the</strong> Most Great is similar to His
statement, (And He is <strong>the</strong> Most High, <strong>the</strong> Most Great) is similar to
His statement,
[He is] Knower of <strong>the</strong> unseen and <strong>the</strong> witnessed, <strong>the</strong> Grand, <strong>the</strong>
Exalted.
These and similar Ayat and au<strong>the</strong>ntic Hadiths about Allah's
Attributes must be treated <strong>the</strong> way <strong>the</strong> Salaf (righteous ancestors)
treated <strong>the</strong>m by accepting <strong>the</strong>ir apparent meanings without
equating <strong>the</strong>m ﴿with <strong>the</strong> attributes of <strong>the</strong> creation ﴾ or altering <strong>the</strong>ir
apparent meanings.
Being <strong>the</strong> compiler of this book, I am a retired aircraft mechanic with over 3
decades of Multilingual Islaamic Publications. Fur<strong>the</strong>r, I have compiled several
books strictly based on <strong>the</strong> Qur'aan and Sunnah based on <strong>the</strong> Question and
Answer type. I have also participated in several Islaamic Exhibitions. Though I
am not at all conversant with <strong>the</strong> Sinhala Language, with <strong>the</strong> help of a Sinhala
qualified Islaamic Graduate and a Multilingualist, I published <strong>the</strong> Sinhala
translation of <strong>the</strong> First Juzoo (First part) of <strong>the</strong> Glorious Qur'aan with a
sprinkling of Ibn Kathir's Thafseer (commentary). All praise be to Allaah, I name
this particular publication as <strong>the</strong> CROWN JEWELS of my 3 decades in Islaamic
publications. This along with many of my o<strong>the</strong>r publications which were

CHAPTER ONE
A GLANCE AT THE CREATION
INITIALLY THERE WAS GAS BEFORE THE CREATION OF
THE UNIVERSE.
Then He directed Himself to <strong>the</strong> heaven while it was smoke and said
to it and to <strong>the</strong> earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by
compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."
Al-Qur'aan Ch.41 Fussilaath (Explained in detail) Vr.11
THE BIG BANG REALITY AND NOT A THEORY.
Have those who disbelieved not considered that <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong>
earth were a joined entity, and We separated <strong>the</strong>m and made from
water every living thing? Then will <strong>the</strong>y not believe?
Al-Qur'aan Ch.21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets)) Vr.30
RAISED THE HEAVENS WITHOUT PILLARS AND BLESSED
THE EARTH WITH ITS BASIC NEEDS.
He created <strong>the</strong> heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into
<strong>the</strong> earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and
dispersed <strong>the</strong>rein from every creature. And We sent down rain from
<strong>the</strong> sky and made grow <strong>the</strong>rein [plants] of every noble kind.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.31 Luqmaan (The Wise) Vr.10
ALMIGHTY ALLAAH'S POWER AND MIGHT.
The Day when We will fold <strong>the</strong> heaven like <strong>the</strong> folding of a [written]
sheet for <strong>the</strong> records. As We began <strong>the</strong> first creation, We will repeat it.
[That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) Vr.104

ALMIGHTY ALLAAH'S POWER OVER THE SHADOW.
Have you not considered your Rabb* - how He extends <strong>the</strong> shadow,
and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made
<strong>the</strong> sun for it an indication.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion) 45
*Creator, Sustainer, Destroyer, Recreator, Owner of <strong>the</strong> Universe . I have used
<strong>the</strong> word Rabb instead of <strong>the</strong> word Lord as <strong>the</strong> word Lord could also mean –
Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, House of Lords and so on. Therefore <strong>the</strong> Arabic
word Rabb befits Almighty Allaah's Majesty – Compiler.
Have <strong>the</strong>y not considered what things Allah has created? Their
shadows incline to <strong>the</strong> right and to <strong>the</strong> left, prostrating to Allah , while
<strong>the</strong>y are humble.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.16 An-Nahl (The Bee) 16:48
Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion)Vr.46
And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.79 An-Naaziaath (Theose Who Pull out) Vr.29
And it is He who has made <strong>the</strong> night for you as clothing and sleep [a
means for] rest and has made <strong>the</strong> day a resurrection.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.25 Al-Furqaan (The Criterion) Vr.47
It is Allah who made for you <strong>the</strong> night that you may rest <strong>the</strong>rein and
<strong>the</strong> day giving sight. Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to <strong>the</strong> people, but
most of <strong>the</strong> people are not grateful.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.40 Ghaafir or Mu'min (Forgiver or Believer) Vr.61
You cause <strong>the</strong> night to enter <strong>the</strong> day, and You cause <strong>the</strong> day to enter
<strong>the</strong> night; and You bring <strong>the</strong> living out of <strong>the</strong> dead, and You bring <strong>the</strong>
dead out of <strong>the</strong> living. And You give provision to whom You will

EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE .
And <strong>the</strong> heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its]
Expander.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.51 Ad-Dhaariyaarh (The Winnowing Winds) Vr.47
AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE PRESENT UNIVERSE,
ALLAAH ALMIGHTY WILL RECREATE HIS CREATION.
The Day when We will fold <strong>the</strong> heaven like <strong>the</strong> folding of a [written]
sheet for <strong>the</strong> records. As We began <strong>the</strong> first creation, We will repeat it.
[That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) Vr.104
ALERTING MAN TO THE WEAKNESS OF HIS ORIGIN FROM
WHICH HE WAS CREATED.
So let man observe from what he was created.
He was created from a fluid, ejected.
Emerging from between <strong>the</strong> backbone and <strong>the</strong> ribs. Indeed, Allah , to
return him [to life], is Able.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.86 Ath-Thaariq (The Nightcomer) Vr.5-8
And it is He who begins creation; <strong>the</strong>n He repeats it, and that is
[even] easier for Him. To Him belongs <strong>the</strong> highest attribute in <strong>the</strong>
heavens and earth. And He is <strong>the</strong> Exalted in Might, <strong>the</strong> Wise.

THE EARTH WILL BE GRIPPED BY ALL MIGHTY
ALLAAH'S HAND AND THE HEAVENS WILL BE ROLLED
UP .
They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while <strong>the</strong> earth
entirely will be [within] His grip on <strong>the</strong> Day of Resurrection, and <strong>the</strong>
heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high
above what <strong>the</strong>y associate with Him.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.39 Az-Zumar (The Troops) Vr.67
THE PROTECTING CEILING OF THE EARTH'S
ATMOSPHERE FROM THE SUN, METEORS, RADIATION,
ETC.
And We made <strong>the</strong> sky a protected ceiling, but <strong>the</strong>y, from its signs, are
turning away.

And if <strong>the</strong>y were to see a fragment from <strong>the</strong> sky falling, <strong>the</strong>y would
say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

THE LAYERS OF ATMOSPEHERE
The troposphere enables water vapour rising from <strong>the</strong> surface of
<strong>the</strong> Earth to be condensed and turned back as rain.
The ozone layer, <strong>the</strong> lower layer of stratosphere reflects harmful
radiation and ultraviolet light coming from space and turns both
back into space
The ionosphere reflects radio waves broadcast from <strong>the</strong> Earth back
down to different parts of <strong>the</strong> world just similar to a
communications satellite. Thus, it makes wireless communication,
radio, and television broadcasting possible over long distances.
The magnetosphere layer turns <strong>the</strong> harmful radioactive particles
emitted by <strong>the</strong> Sun and o<strong>the</strong>r stars back into space before <strong>the</strong>y
reach <strong>the</strong> Earth.
THE EARTH WHICH CRACKS.
And [by] <strong>the</strong> earth which cracks open,
Ch.86 The Night Commer (At-Thaariq) Vr.12
MANKIND WILL BE TESTED.
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a
loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to <strong>the</strong> patient,
Al-Qur'aan Ch.2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.155-157
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is

estricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him. Allah does
not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah
will bring about, after hardship, ease.
Al- Qur'aan 65 At-Thalaaq (The Divorce) Vr.7
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.94 Ash-Shrah (The Relief) Vr.5-6
They have exchanged <strong>the</strong> signs of Allah for a small price and averted
[people] from His way. Indeed, it was evil that <strong>the</strong>y were doing.
They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant
of protection. And it is <strong>the</strong>y who are <strong>the</strong> transgressors.
But if <strong>the</strong>y repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong>y are your
bro<strong>the</strong>rs in religion; and We detail <strong>the</strong> verses for a people who know.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.9 At-Thawbah (The Repentance) Vr.9-11
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not
yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They
were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even
<strong>the</strong>ir] messenger and those who believed with him said,"When is <strong>the</strong>
help of Allah ?" Unquestionably, <strong>the</strong> help of Allah is near.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.214
Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Rabb. For those
who do good in this world is good, and <strong>the</strong> earth of Allah is spacious.
Indeed, <strong>the</strong> patient will be given <strong>the</strong>ir reward without account."
Al-Qur'aan Ch.39 Az-Zumar (The Troops) Vr.10
“Similarly We blessed Job (Ayyub), when he prayed to his Rabb
saying,

“Verily, distress has seized me, and You are <strong>the</strong> Most Merciful of all
those who show mercy.”
We accepted his prayer and relieved his affliction, and restored not
only his family but
also as many more with <strong>the</strong>m as a favour from Us
so that it may serve as a reminder to Our worshippers.
Ch.21 The Prophets (Al-Anbiyaa) Vr.83-84

PROPHETIC NARRATIONS ON TESTS.
“When Allah has previously decreed for a servant a rank which he
has not attained by his action, He afflicts him in his body, or his
property or his child.
[ Abu Dawud]
“There is nothing (in <strong>the</strong> form of trouble) that comes to a believer
even if it is <strong>the</strong> pricking of a thorn that <strong>the</strong>re is decreed for him by
Allah (something) good or his sins are obliterated.”

CHAPTER TWO
ISLAAM AND SCIENCE AT A GLANCE
A recent image of <strong>the</strong> Hubble Telescope with <strong>the</strong> wordings –
HUBBLE HAS TAKEN OVER A MILLION IMAGES was like a
living being searching for food in outer space.
This telescope was given <strong>the</strong> name Hubble after Edwin Hubble who
in October 4th 1923 began his work on <strong>the</strong> Expansion of <strong>the</strong>
Universe and in 1929 submitted a paper THAT THE UNIVERSE
WAS EXPANDING. That was Edwin Hubble's discovery. But 1432
years ago, Al-Qur'aan mentions:
THE EXPANDER OF THE UNIVERSE.
And <strong>the</strong> heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its]
expander.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.54 Ad-Dhaariyaath (The Winnowing Winds) Vr.47
As for Hubble Telescope's achievement in taking over a million
images, Allaah All Mighty says:
THE CHALLENGE.
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Specially Merciful.
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things
competent -
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best
in deed - and He is <strong>the</strong> Exalted in Might, <strong>the</strong> Forgiving -
[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in <strong>the</strong>
creation of <strong>the</strong> Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your]
vision [to <strong>the</strong> sky]; do you see any breaks?
Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you
humbled while it is fatigued.

Al-Qur'aan Ch.67 Al-Mulk (The Kingdom) Vvr.1-4
The NASA team involved in <strong>the</strong> Hubble Project should be honoured
in <strong>the</strong>ir effort to launch <strong>the</strong> Hubble Telescope. But Allaah Almighty
says:
CREATING MAN AND TEACHING HIM WHAT HE KNEW
NOT.
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Specially Merciful.
Recite in <strong>the</strong> name of your Lord who created -
Created man from a clinging substance.
Recite, and your Lord is <strong>the</strong> most Generous -
Who taught by <strong>the</strong> pen -
Taught man that which he knew not.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.96 'Alaqa (The Clot) Vr.1-5
Where science is concerned, most scientists start with <strong>the</strong>ories , and
end up contradicting what <strong>the</strong>y had said before thus confusing <strong>the</strong>
human masses.
Recently NASA found out that <strong>the</strong> SUN SLIMMER THAN
EXPECTED. For this purpose <strong>the</strong> Solar Dynamics Observatory is a
NASA mission which will observe <strong>the</strong> Sun for over five years.
Launched on February 11, 2010, <strong>the</strong> observatory is part of <strong>the</strong>
Living With a Star program. For fifty years <strong>the</strong> observation of <strong>the</strong>
sun has been kept alive by o<strong>the</strong>rs who were not involved with <strong>the</strong>
NASA project.
THE CHALLENGE.
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Specially Merciful.
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things

competent -
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best
in deed - and He is <strong>the</strong> Exalted in Might, <strong>the</strong> Forgiving -
[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in <strong>the</strong>
creation of <strong>the</strong> Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your]
vision [to <strong>the</strong> sky]; do you see any breaks?
Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you
humbled while it is fatigued.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.67 Al-Mulk (The Kingdom) Vvr.1-4
ELEVEN PLANETS.
[Of <strong>the</strong>se stories mention] when Joseph (Yusoof) said to his fa<strong>the</strong>r, "O
my fa<strong>the</strong>r, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and <strong>the</strong> sun
and <strong>the</strong> moon; I saw <strong>the</strong>m prostrating to me."
He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your bro<strong>the</strong>rs or <strong>the</strong>y
will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest
enemy.
And thus will your Rabb choose you and teach you <strong>the</strong> interpretation
of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon <strong>the</strong> family of
Jacob (Ya'qoob), as He completed it upon your fa<strong>the</strong>rs before,
Abraham (Ibrahim) and Isaac (Is-haaq). Indeed, your Rabb is
Knowing and Wise."

THE STARS THAT RUN THEIR COURSES AND DISAPPEAR.
So I swear by <strong>the</strong> retreating stars -
Those that run [<strong>the</strong>ir courses] and disappear -

THE RABB (CREATOR) OF THE SUNRISES AND ADORNED
THE NEAREST HEAVEN WITH STARS.
Rabb of <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth and that between <strong>the</strong>m and Rabb
of <strong>the</strong> sunrises.*
Indeed, We have adorned <strong>the</strong> nearest heaven with an adornment of
stars
And as protection against every rebellious devil
[So] <strong>the</strong>y may not listen to <strong>the</strong> exalted assembly [of angels] and are
pelted from every side,
Repelled; and for <strong>the</strong>m is a constant punishment,
Except one who snatches [some words] by <strong>the</strong>ft, but <strong>the</strong>y are pursued
by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].
Al-Qur'aan Ch.37 AS-Saafaath (Those who set <strong>the</strong> ranks) Vr.5-10

*The sun has approximately 365 points for its rising and 365 points for its setting
(i.e., <strong>the</strong> number of days of a solar year). Every day it rises and sets in a new
point, till <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> year, <strong>the</strong>n it comes back to <strong>the</strong> same point after a year –

ALMIGHTY ALLAAH'S CONTROL OVER HIS CREATIONS.
It is not allowable for <strong>the</strong> sun to reach <strong>the</strong> moon, nor does <strong>the</strong> night
overtake <strong>the</strong> day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.36 Yaa Seen (Abv. words) Vr.40
CREATED THE HEAVENS WITHOUT PILLARS, SET THE
MOUNTAINS FIRMLY, DISPERSED EVERY CREATURE AND
SENT DOWN RAIN FOR THE PLANTS.
He created <strong>the</strong> heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into
<strong>the</strong> earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and

dispersed <strong>the</strong>rein from every creature. And We sent down rain from
<strong>the</strong> sky and made grow <strong>the</strong>rein [plants] of every noble kind.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.31 Luqmaan (Luqmaan) Vr.10
PHASES OF THE MOON BEING DETERMINED.
And <strong>the</strong> moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns
[appearing] like <strong>the</strong> old date stalk.

THE NIGHT AND THE DAY AND THE SUN AND THE MOON
ARE SUBJECTED FOR MANKIND.
And He has subjected for you <strong>the</strong> night and day and <strong>the</strong> sun and
moon, and <strong>the</strong> stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are
signs for a people who reason.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.16 An-Nahl (The Bee) Vr.12
STARS PLACED FOR GUIDANCE THROUGH DARKNESS OF
THE LAND AND SEA.
And it is He who placed for you <strong>the</strong> stars that you may be guided by
<strong>the</strong>m through <strong>the</strong> darknesses of <strong>the</strong> land and sea. We have detailed
<strong>the</strong> signs for a people who know.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.16 Al-An'aam (The Cattle) Vr.7
PLACED A LAMP AND A LUMINOUS MOON
Blessed is He who has placed in <strong>the</strong> sky great stars and placed <strong>the</strong>rein
a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

CREATED THE SEVEN HEAVENS, AND THE MOON AS A

Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layer

burning lamp?

THE PIERCING STAR AND LET MAN OBSERVE FROM
WHAT HE WAS CREATED.
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Specially Merciful
By <strong>the</strong> sky and <strong>the</strong> night comer -
And what can make you know what is <strong>the</strong> night comer?
It is <strong>the</strong> piercing star -
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
So let man observe from what he was created.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.86 At-Thaariq (The Night Comer) Vr.1-5
ALL HEAVENLY BODIES ARE SWIMMING IN AN ORBIT.
And it is He who created <strong>the</strong> night and <strong>the</strong> day and <strong>the</strong> sun and <strong>the</strong>
moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) Vr.33
THE HEAVENS WAS RAISED AND THE BALANCE WAS
IMPOSED TO PREVENT TRANSGRESSION WITHIN THE
BALANCE.
And <strong>the</strong> heaven He raised and imposed <strong>the</strong> balance
That you not transgress within <strong>the</strong> balance.
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient <strong>the</strong> balance.

AN INVITATIO N TO SPACE FLIGHT.
O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond <strong>the</strong>
regions of <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth, <strong>the</strong>n pass. You will not pass
except by authority [from Allah ].
Al-Qur'aan Ch.55 Ar-Rahmaan (The Beneficent) Vr.33
Note: The words “Us”, “We”, “Our” often used by Allaah Most
High is to denote plurality of respect.
Once more some scientists have turned out to be scientific rabble
rousers. This time <strong>the</strong> scientific rabble is over <strong>the</strong> Mayan Calendar.
It should be noted that in Islaam <strong>the</strong>re is no NATURAL
DISASTER BUT DEVINELY DECREED DEVINE DiSASTER.
'Abdullaah bin 'Amr reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu
'alaihiwa sallaam (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as
saying, “Allaah recorded <strong>the</strong> fates of all creatures 50,000 years before
creating <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth, and His Throne was on <strong>the</strong> water.
Imaam Muslim.
And with Him are <strong>the</strong> keys of <strong>the</strong> unseen; none knows <strong>the</strong>m except
Him. And He knows what is on <strong>the</strong> land and in <strong>the</strong> sea. Not a leaf
falls but that He knows it. And no grain is <strong>the</strong>re within <strong>the</strong> darknesses
of <strong>the</strong> earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a
clear record.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.6 Al-An'aam Vr.59
Some of <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ories which <strong>the</strong> rabblle rousers from among
scientists have <strong>the</strong>orised about 21/12/2012 are:
THE END OF THE UNIVERSE.
THE SUN WOULD RISE FROM THE WEST.
THERE WOULD BE DARKNESS FOR THREE DAYS.

NASA says that <strong>the</strong> world will not end on 21/12/2012 but <strong>the</strong>
existence of <strong>the</strong> universe would continue. This is a challenge, read
Chapter FIVE.
AS FOR DARWIN'S THEORY OF EVOLUTION.
And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a
sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."
And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed is
falsehood, [by nature], ever bound to depart."

The end of <strong>the</strong> universe would occur only after <strong>the</strong> major
Prophecies on <strong>the</strong> Last Hour have been witnessed by mankind. To
explain this, I shall first give a glance of <strong>the</strong> Minor Prophecies
Mankind has Witnessed so far in Chapter Three and <strong>the</strong> major
Prophecies mankind has yet to witness on <strong>the</strong> Last Hour in Chapter

CHAPTER THREE
THE MINOR PROPHECIES MANKIND HAS
WITNESSED SO FAR.
DREGS AS WORLD LEADERS.
Abdallaah bin 'Amr bin al 'Aas reported <strong>the</strong> Prophet Sallallaahu
'alaihi wa sallam (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as
saying, “How will you do when you are left among dregs of mankind
whose covenants and guarantees have been impaired, who have
disagreed and become thus?” - intertwining his fingers. He asked
what he ordered him to do and he replied , “Keep to what you approve,
abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs and avoid
<strong>the</strong> generality.” A version has “Keep to your house control your
tongue, accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove,
attend to your own affairs and leave alone <strong>the</strong> affairs to <strong>the</strong>
generality.”
UNWORTHY RULERS.
Imaam Thirmidhee
Aboo Huraira told that while <strong>the</strong> Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa
sallam was talking, a Nomadic Arab came and asked when THE
LAST HOUR would come, to which he replied, “When <strong>the</strong> practice of
honourig a trust, except THE LAST HOUR.”He asked how it could be
lost and he replied, “When rule is given to people unworthy of it,
expect THE LAST HOUR.”
Imaam Bukhaaree.
THOSE WHO LEAD MEN ASTRAY.
Hudhaifa told that he asked Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>re would be evil after this good just as <strong>the</strong>re was
evil before it, and when he was told that <strong>the</strong>re would he asked wherein

protection lay and was told that it lies in <strong>the</strong> sword. He asked if any
would be spared after <strong>the</strong> use of <strong>the</strong> sword and he replied, “Yes, <strong>the</strong>re
will be an Amirate with specks in its eye and an illusory truce.” He
asked what would come next and he replied, “Then <strong>the</strong> people who
summon men to error will arise; and if Allaah has in <strong>the</strong> earth a
Caliph who flays your back and takes your property, obey him;
o<strong>the</strong>rwise die holding on to a stump of a tree.” He asked what would
come next and he replied, “Then <strong>the</strong> Dajjaal (Anti Christ) will come
forth accompanied by a river and a fire. He who falls into His
(Dajjaal's) fire will certainly get a reward and have his load taken off
him, but he who falls into his river will have his load retained and his
reward taken off him.”He asked what would come next and he replied,
“Then a foal will be born but not ridden before THE LAST HOUR
COMES.”In a version he said, “An illusory truce and a community
with specks in its eye.” He asked Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu
'alaihi wa sallam what <strong>the</strong> illusory truce meant and he replied, “The
hearts of people will not return to its former condition.” He was asked
whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>re would be evil after that good and he replied, “There will
be wrong belief which will blind and deafen men to <strong>the</strong> truth* in
which <strong>the</strong>re will be summoners to <strong>the</strong> gates of hell. If you, Hudhaifa,
die adhering to a stump, it will be better for you than following any of
<strong>the</strong>m.” -
Imaam Aboo Daawood.
*This is a free translation of <strong>the</strong> words HUNDNA ALA DAKHAN
which means literally “A rule upon malice (or, evil disposition),”
indicating rule liable to be broken at any time.

AN INVITATION BY THE INVADERS.
Thauban reported Allaah's Messemger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam
as saying; "The peoples will summon one ano<strong>the</strong>r to attack you
(Muslims) as people when eating invite o<strong>the</strong>rs to share <strong>the</strong>ir dish:"

Someone asked if that could be because of <strong>the</strong>ir small numbers at that
time, and he replied, "No, you will be numerous at that time; but you
will be like scum and rubbish carried down by a torrent, and Allaah
will take fear of you of your enemy and cast enervation into your
hearts." He was asked <strong>the</strong> meaning of enervation and replied, "Love
of <strong>the</strong> world and dislike of death."
– Imaams Aboo Daawood an Baihaqi, in Dalaal an Nubuwa.

Note: Two good examples of <strong>the</strong> above Prophecy is <strong>the</strong> Weapons of
Mass Destruction (WMD) war on Iraq and <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r is <strong>the</strong>
occupation of Afghanistan. Almighty Allaah's reply to <strong>the</strong>ir deceit is
<strong>the</strong> Cyclone 'SANDY' which devastated New York and New Jersy in
<strong>the</strong> United States. The extent and <strong>the</strong> cost of this disaster is best
known only to Allaah The Exalted. The disbelievers call such
disasters as natural disasters.
In Islaam,
THERE IS NO NATURAL DISASTER AS SUCH BUT ONLY
THE DEVINELY DECREED DEVINE DISASTER.
Leave <strong>the</strong>m that <strong>the</strong>y may eat and enjoy <strong>the</strong>mselves and (that) hope
may beguile <strong>the</strong>m, for <strong>the</strong>y will soon know.
And never did We destroy a town but it had a term* made known.
No people can hasten on <strong>the</strong>ir doom nor can <strong>the</strong>y postpone (it).
Al-Qur'aan Ch.15 Al-Hijr (The Rocky Tract) Vr.3-5
* “Allaah recorded <strong>the</strong> fates of all creatures 50,000 years before
creating <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth, and His Throne was on <strong>the</strong> water.

THE INHERITOR OF THE UNLAWFUL.
Hudhaifa reported <strong>the</strong> prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam (may
Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, "THE LAST

HOUR will not come till you kill your leader, fight toge<strong>the</strong>r with your
swords, and your worst ones inherit your worldly goods."
Imaam Thirmidhee.
DETERIOTAION OF MANKIND.
Mirdaas al-aslami reported Allaah Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, “The
upright will depart one after ano<strong>the</strong>r and <strong>the</strong>re will remain refuse like
that of barley or dates which Allaah will treat as of no account.”
Imaam Bukhaaree.
THE WORST ONES TO RULE OVER THEIR BEST ONES.
Ibn 'Umar reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam
(may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, “When my
people swagger and are served by sons of kings, <strong>the</strong> sons of <strong>the</strong>
Persians, and Byzantines, Allaah wil give <strong>the</strong>ir worst ones to rule over
<strong>the</strong>ir best ones.”
ImaamThirmidhee.
THE IMMITATION.
Abu Sa'eed reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, “You
will certainly follow <strong>the</strong> practices of your predecessors span by span
and cubit by cubit so that if <strong>the</strong>y were to enter a lizard's hole you
would follow <strong>the</strong>m.” He was asked if he meant <strong>the</strong> Jews and <strong>the</strong>
Christians and replied, “Who else?” Imaams Bukhaaree and
Muslim.
THE FATE OF ISLAAM.
Aboo Ubaida and Mu'aadh ibn Jabal reported Allaah's Messenger
Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam as saying, “This matter (Islaam) began
as a Prophecy and Mercy, <strong>the</strong>n it will become a Caliphate and Mercy,
<strong>the</strong>n a tyrannical kingdom, <strong>the</strong>n how much haughtiness, pride and

corruption <strong>the</strong>re will be in <strong>the</strong> earth! They will treat as lawful silk,
fornication and wines, living on that and getting help from it till <strong>the</strong>y
meet <strong>the</strong>ir Rabb (Creator. Sustainer, Destroyer, Recreator,).
Imaam Baihaaqee transmitted it in Shu'ab al-eemaan .
DO NOT RESORT DURING COMMOTIONS.
Aboo Moosa reported <strong>the</strong> Allaah's Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam as saying, “Before <strong>the</strong> LAST HOUR <strong>the</strong>re will be commotions
like pieces of a dark night in which a man will be a believer in <strong>the</strong>
morning and an infidel in <strong>the</strong> evening. He who sits during <strong>the</strong>m will
be better than he who runs. So break your swords on stones. If people
come into one of you, let him be like <strong>the</strong> better of Aadam's (Adam's)
sons.* Aboo Daawood transmitted it. A version by him has <strong>the</strong> same
up to ““better than he who runs.” It <strong>the</strong>n says <strong>the</strong> people asked what
he ordered <strong>the</strong>m to do and he replied, “Keep to your houses.”
Imaam Thirmidhee's version states that Allaah's Messenger
Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam said about <strong>the</strong> commotion, “Break your
bows during it, keep to <strong>the</strong> inside of your houses during it, cut your
bowstrings during it, and be like Aadam's son.” He said this is a
Sahee Gharib tradition.
*The reference is to Haabil (Abel) who was killed by his bro<strong>the</strong>r
Qaabil (Cain).

MEN WOULD IMMITATE WOMEN AND WOMEN WOULD
IMMITATE MEN.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbaas: The Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam
cursed effeminate men (those who are in <strong>the</strong> similitude assume <strong>the</strong>
manners of women and those women who assume <strong>the</strong> manners of
men) and he said, “Turn <strong>the</strong>m out of your houses.” The Prophet
Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam turned out such and such a man and
'Umar (<strong>the</strong> second Caliph) turned out such a woman.

CHAPTER FOUR
THE MAJOR PROPHECIES ON THE LAST
HOUR YET TO BE WITNESSED BY MANKIND.
THE FIRE WHICH WILL GATHER MANKIND.
Anas reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam (may
Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, <strong>the</strong> least of <strong>the</strong>
signs of THE LAST HOUR will be a fire which will ga<strong>the</strong>r mankind
from <strong>the</strong> East to <strong>the</strong> West. - Imaam
Imaam Bukhaaree.
THE RISING OF THE SUN FROM ITS PLACE OF SETTING.
A PROPHETIC NARRATION ON THE RISING OF THE SUN.
Abu Dharr told at sun set Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam asked him if he knew where <strong>the</strong> sun went and that when he
replied that Allaah and His Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam
knew best he said. “It goes and prostrates itself under <strong>the</strong> Throne.
Then asks permission to depart and this is granted. But it will soon
prostrate itself and that will not be accepted from it, and will ask
permission to depart and that will not be granted. It will be told to
go back <strong>the</strong> way it came, and it will rise from its place of setting.”
That is <strong>the</strong> meaning of <strong>the</strong> words of Him who is Exalted,
And <strong>the</strong> sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is <strong>the</strong>
determination of <strong>the</strong> Exalted in Might, <strong>the</strong> Knowing.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.36 Yaa Seen (Abv. Words) Vr.38
APPEARANCE OF GREAT LIARS.
Jaabir bin Samura told that he heard <strong>the</strong> Prophet Sallallaahu

'alaihiwa sallam say, “Before THE LAST HOUR <strong>the</strong>re will be great
liars, so beware of <strong>the</strong>m.” -
Imaam Muslim.
SOME FRIGHTENING SIGNS ON THE LAST HOUR.
He (Hudhaifa) reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa
sallam (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying, “THE
LAST HOUR will not come till <strong>the</strong> most fortunate men in <strong>the</strong> world
will be <strong>the</strong> base born son of a base born.
Imaams Thirmidhee and Baihaaqee in Dalaal an-Nuboowa,
transmitted it.
WHO ARE THOSE WHO SEIZE LIVE COAL?
Anas reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam
(may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) as saying; “A time is
coming to men when he who adheres to his religion will be like one
who seizes live coals.
Thirmidhee transmitted it saying this is a tradition whose Isnaad is
Ghareeb.
THE COMING OF DAABATH-UL-ARAD (THE BEAST FROM
THE EARTH).
And when <strong>the</strong> word (i.e., Decree) befalls <strong>the</strong>m, We will bring forth for
<strong>the</strong>m a creature from <strong>the</strong> earth speaking to <strong>the</strong>m, (saying) that <strong>the</strong>
people were of Our verses, not certain in (faith).
Al-Qur'aan Ch.27 An-Naml (The Ant) Vr.82
A PROPHETIC NARRATION ON THE BEAST FROM THE
EARTH.
Abu Dawud At-Tayalisi recorded from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be
pleased with him, that <strong>the</strong> Messenger of Allah said:

A beast will emerge from <strong>the</strong> earth, and with it will be
<strong>the</strong> staff of Musa and <strong>the</strong> ring of Suleiman, peace be
upon <strong>the</strong>m both. It will strike <strong>the</strong> nose of <strong>the</strong>
disbelievers with <strong>the</strong> staff, and it will make <strong>the</strong> face of
<strong>the</strong> believer bright with <strong>the</strong> ring, until when people
ga<strong>the</strong>r to eat, <strong>the</strong>y will be able to recognize <strong>the</strong>
believers from <strong>the</strong> disbelievers.
It also was recorded by Imam Ahmad, with <strong>the</strong>
wording:
It will strike <strong>the</strong> nose of <strong>the</strong> disbelievers with <strong>the</strong> ring,
and will make <strong>the</strong> face of <strong>the</strong> believer bright with <strong>the</strong>
staff, until when people ga<strong>the</strong>r for a meal, <strong>the</strong>y will
say to one ano<strong>the</strong>r, O believer, or O disbeliever.
It was also recorded by Ibn Majah.
Ibn Jurayj reported that Ibn Az-Zubayr described <strong>the</strong> beast
and said,
"Its head is like <strong>the</strong> head of a bull, its eyes are like <strong>the</strong>
eyes of a pig, its ears are like <strong>the</strong> ears of an elephant,
its horns are like <strong>the</strong> horns of a stag, its neck is like
<strong>the</strong> neck of an ostrich, its chest is like <strong>the</strong> chest of a
lion, its color is like <strong>the</strong> color of a tiger, its haunches
are like <strong>the</strong> haunches of a cat, its tail is like <strong>the</strong> tail of
a ram, and its legs are like <strong>the</strong> legs of a camel.
Between each pair of its joints is a distance of twelve
cubits. It will bring out with it <strong>the</strong> staff of Musa and
<strong>the</strong> ring of Suleiman.
There will be no believer left without it making a

white spot on his face, which will spread until all his
face is shining white as a result; and <strong>the</strong>re will be no
disbeliever left without it making a black spot on his
face, which will spread until all his face is black as a
result, <strong>the</strong>n when <strong>the</strong> people trade with one ano<strong>the</strong>r
in <strong>the</strong> marketplace, <strong>the</strong>y will say, `How much is this,
O believer?' `How much is this, O disbeliever?' And
when <strong>the</strong> members of one household sit down
toge<strong>the</strong>r to eat, <strong>the</strong>y will know who is a believer and
who is a disbeliever.
Then <strong>the</strong> beast will say:
`O so-and-so, enjoy yourself, for you are among <strong>the</strong>
people of Paradise.'
And it will say: `O so-and-so, you are among <strong>the</strong> people
of Hell,'
FOR HOW LONG WOULD DAJJAAL (ANTI CHRIST) STAY
ON EARTH?
Asma daughter of Yazeed as-Sakan reported <strong>the</strong> Prophet
Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam saying, “The Dajjaal would remain on
<strong>the</strong> earth for forty years, a year being like a month, a month like a
week, a week like a day, and a day like <strong>the</strong> time it takes to burn a palm
branch.”
It is transmitted in Sharh as-Sunnah.
WHAT WOULD DAJJAAL BRING FORTH?
Hudhaifa reported <strong>the</strong> Prophet Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam saying,
“The Dajjal would come forth having with him water and fire, and
what mankind would see as water will be fire which burns and what

<strong>the</strong>y see as fire will be cold, sweet water. And of you who will live till
that time must fall into what <strong>the</strong>y see as fire, for it is sweet fresh
water.” -(Bukharee and Muslim) Muslim added, The Dajjaal will
have an eye obliterated over which <strong>the</strong>re will be coarse film, and <strong>the</strong>
word كافر (“Infidel”) will be written on his forehead. Every Muslim
who can write and those who cannot will read it.

THE DAJJAAL WOULD COME FROM KHURASAAN.
'Amir bin Hurairah quoted Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq (<strong>the</strong> first Caliph) as
saying that Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam told
<strong>the</strong>m that Dajjaal would come forth from a land in <strong>the</strong> East called
Khurasaan (in Iran) followed by people whose faces resemble shields
covered with skin.
Imaam Thirmidhee transmitted it.
Note: 'followed by people whose faces resemble shields covered with
skin,' meaning <strong>the</strong> Persians (<strong>the</strong> people of present day Iran).

ISFAHAAN.

(ANTI CHRIST) AND THE JEWS OF
Anas reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu 'alaihiwa sallam as
saying, “The Dajjaal will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of
Isfahaan (in Iran) wearing Persian shawls.”
Imaam Muslim transmitted it.
Rasool Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said about Dajjal, “He is a
young man with curly hair and his eye is blind….Whoever among
you sees him, let him recite <strong>the</strong> opening verses of Surat al-Kahf over
him.”

Whoever memorises ten Aayaat (verses) from <strong>the</strong> beginning of
Surathul Al- Kahf (Chapter Cave) will be protected from <strong>the</strong> Dajjaal.

[All] praise is [due] to Allah , who has sent down upon His Servant
<strong>the</strong> Book and has not made <strong>the</strong>rein any deviance.
[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him
and to give good tidings to <strong>the</strong> believers who do righteous deeds that
<strong>the</strong>y will have a good reward
In which <strong>the</strong>y will remain forever
And to warn those who say, " Allah has taken a son."
They have no knowledge of it, nor had <strong>the</strong>ir fa<strong>the</strong>rs. Grave is <strong>the</strong>
word that comes out of <strong>the</strong>ir mouths; <strong>the</strong>y speak not except a lie.
Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over <strong>the</strong>m, [O
Muhammad], if <strong>the</strong>y do not believe in this message, [and] out of
sorrow.
Indeed, We have made that which is on <strong>the</strong> earth adornment for it
that We may test <strong>the</strong>m [as to] which of <strong>the</strong>m is best in deed.
And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren
ground.
Or have you thought that <strong>the</strong> companions of <strong>the</strong> cave and <strong>the</strong>
inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?
[Mention] when <strong>the</strong> youths retreated to <strong>the</strong> cave and said, "Our Lord,
grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right
guidance."

THE COMING OF 'EESA IBN MARYAM (JESUS SON OF
MARY) 'ALAIHIM-MUSSALAAM (MAY ALLAAH PROTECT
AND PRESERVE THEM).
An-Nawaas bin sam'aan narrated , he “Eesa ibn Maryam 'alaihimmussalaam
(may allaah protect and preserve <strong>the</strong>m) will descend close
to <strong>the</strong> White Minaret to <strong>the</strong> East of Damascus. He will be wearing two
garments lightly coloured with saffron, having his hands on <strong>the</strong> wings
of two angels. Whenever he raises his head, precious jewels like
pearls will fall off it. No disbeliever can survive 'Eesa's breadth, and
his breath, reaches <strong>the</strong> distance of his light.
Imaam Muslim transmitted it.
THE CHASTISEMENT OF THE JEWS TILL THE DAY OF
JUDGEMENT.
And ask <strong>the</strong>m about <strong>the</strong> town that was by <strong>the</strong> sea - when <strong>the</strong>y
transgressed in [<strong>the</strong> matter of] <strong>the</strong> sabbath - when <strong>the</strong>ir fish came to
<strong>the</strong>m openly on <strong>the</strong>ir sabbath day, and <strong>the</strong> day <strong>the</strong>y had no sabbath
<strong>the</strong>y did not come to <strong>the</strong>m. Thus did We give <strong>the</strong>m trial because <strong>the</strong>y
were defiantly disobedient.
And when a community among <strong>the</strong>m said, "Why do you advise [or
warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a
severe punishment?" They [<strong>the</strong> advisors] said, "To be absolved before
your Lord and perhaps <strong>the</strong>y may fear Him."
And when <strong>the</strong>y forgot that by which <strong>the</strong>y had been reminded, We
saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged,
with a wretched punishment, because <strong>the</strong>y were defiantly disobeying.
So when <strong>the</strong>y were insolent about that which <strong>the</strong>y had been
forbidden, We said to <strong>the</strong>m, "Be apes, despised."
And (mention) when your Rabb declared that He would surely
(continue to) send upon <strong>the</strong>m until <strong>the</strong> Day of Resurrection those who
would effect <strong>the</strong>m with <strong>the</strong> worst torment. Indeed, your Rabb is swift
in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful .

And We divided <strong>the</strong>m throughout <strong>the</strong> earth into nations. Of <strong>the</strong>m
some were righteous, and of <strong>the</strong>m some were o<strong>the</strong>rwise. And We
tested <strong>the</strong>m with good [times] and bad that perhaps <strong>the</strong>y would return
[to obedience].

THE END OF THE JEWISH RACE WHILE SOME WILL HIDE
BEHIND BOX THORN TREES.
He (Aboo Hurairah) reported Allaah's Messenger Sallallaahu
'alaihiwa sallam as saying, “THE LAST HOUR will not come before
<strong>the</strong> Muslims fight <strong>the</strong> Jews and <strong>the</strong> Muslims kill <strong>the</strong>m, so that <strong>the</strong>
Jews will hide behind stones and trees and <strong>the</strong> stone and <strong>the</strong> tree will
say, 'O Muslim, O Servant of Allaah, <strong>the</strong>re is a Jew behind me; come
and kill him.' The only exception will be <strong>the</strong> Box Thorn tree.”
Imaam Muslim recorded it.
THE SWARMING OF GOG AND MAGOG (YA'JOOJA WA
MA'JOOJ).
Then he followed a way until, when he reached [a pass] between two
mountains, he found beside <strong>the</strong>m a people who could hardly
understand [his] speech. They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog
and Magog (Ya'jooja wa Ma'jooj) are [great] corrupters in <strong>the</strong> land.
So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make
between us and <strong>the</strong>m a barrier?"
He said, "That in which my Lord has established me is better [than
what you offer], but assist me with strength; I will make between you
and <strong>the</strong>m a dam.
Bring me sheets of iron" - until, when he had leveled [<strong>the</strong>m] between
<strong>the</strong> two mountain walls, he said, "Blow [with bellows]," until when
he had made it [like] fire, he said, "Bring me, that I may pour over it
molten copper."
So Gog and Magog (Ya'jooja wa Ma'jooj) were unable to pass over it,
nor were <strong>the</strong>y able [to effect] in it any penetration.

[Dhul-Qarnayn] said, "This is a mercy from my Lord; but when <strong>the</strong>
promise of my Lord comes, He will make it level, and ever is <strong>the</strong>
promise of my Lord true."
And We will leave <strong>the</strong>m that day surging over each o<strong>the</strong>r, and [<strong>the</strong>n]
<strong>the</strong> Horn will be blown, and We will assemble <strong>the</strong>m in [one] assembly.

As for ano<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>ory forwarded by <strong>the</strong> rablle rousing scientists is
that <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sun would rise from <strong>the</strong> West. Allaah says,
And <strong>the</strong> sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is <strong>the</strong>
determination of <strong>the</strong> Exalted in Might, <strong>the</strong> Knowing.

THE HOUR AS DESCRIBED IN
AL-QUR'AAN AND PROPHETIC NARRATIONS
WHO POSSES THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOUR.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about <strong>the</strong> Hour: when is its arrival?
Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time
except Him. It lays heavily upon <strong>the</strong> heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth. It will not
come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are
familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah , but most of
<strong>the</strong> people do not know."
Al-Qur'aan Ch.7 Al-A'araaf (The Heights) Vr.187
THE BEGINNING OF THE HOUR.
THE BLOWING OF THE HORN.
On <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>the</strong> (first) blast [of <strong>the</strong> Horn] will convulse [creation],
Al-Qur'aan Ch.79 An-Naaziaath (Those who drag forth) Vr.6
And [warn of] <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>the</strong> Horn (Soor) will be blown, and whoever is
in <strong>the</strong> heavens and whoever is on <strong>the</strong> earth will be terrified except
whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.27 An-Naml (The Ant) Vr.87
A PROPHETIC NARRATION ON THE SOOR HORN.
According to <strong>the</strong> Hadith (a Prophetic narration) <strong>the</strong> Soor (Horn), it
is <strong>the</strong> angel Israafeel who will blow into it by <strong>the</strong> command of
Allaah, may He be Exalted. He wioll blow it for <strong>the</strong> first time, for a
long time. This will signal <strong>the</strong> end <strong>the</strong> life of this world, and <strong>the</strong>
Hour will come upon <strong>the</strong> most evil of people ever to live. Everyone

who is in <strong>the</strong> heavens and earth will be terrified, (except whom
Allaah wills.) <strong>the</strong>se are <strong>the</strong> Matyrs, for <strong>the</strong>y are alive. With <strong>the</strong>ir
Rabb (Creator, Sustainer, Destroyer, Recreator, Owner), and being
provided for. - Thafseer Ibn Ka<strong>the</strong>er.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about <strong>the</strong> Hour: when is its arrival?

When <strong>the</strong> earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake. And <strong>the</strong> earth
discharges its burdens. And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?"
-That Day, it will report its news. Because your Lord has commanded
it. That Day, <strong>the</strong> people will depart separated [into categories] to be
shown [<strong>the</strong> result of] <strong>the</strong>ir deeds. So whoever does an atom's weight of
good will see it,And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
Al-Qur'aan Al-Qur'aan Ch.99 Az-Zalzalah (The Convulsion) Vr.
1-8
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE MOUNTAINS DURING THE
HOUR.
And [warn of] <strong>the</strong> Day when We will remove <strong>the</strong> mountains and you
will see <strong>the</strong> earth prominent, and We will ga<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>m and not leave
behind from <strong>the</strong>m anyone.

And <strong>the</strong>y ask you about <strong>the</strong> mountains, so say, "My Lord will blow
<strong>the</strong>m away with a blast.
And He will leave <strong>the</strong> earth a level plain; You will not see <strong>the</strong>rein a

And you see <strong>the</strong> mountains, thinking <strong>the</strong>m rigid, while <strong>the</strong>y will pass
as <strong>the</strong> passing of clouds. [It is] <strong>the</strong> work of Allah , who perfected all
things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.
And <strong>the</strong> earth and <strong>the</strong> mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow.

And <strong>the</strong> mountains will be like wool,

mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

And when <strong>the</strong> mountains are removed
Al-Qur'aan Ch.81 At-Thakwir (The Overwhelming) Vr.3
On <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>the</strong> heaven will sway with circular motion
And <strong>the</strong> mountains will pass on, departing -
Al-Qur'aan Ch.52 At-Thoor (The Mount) Vr.9-10
And you see <strong>the</strong> mountains, thinking <strong>the</strong>m rigid, while <strong>the</strong>y will pass
as <strong>the</strong> passing of clouds. [It is] <strong>the</strong> work of Allah , who perfected all
things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.

And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

And when <strong>the</strong> heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -
Al-Qur'aan Ch.55 Ar-Rahmaan (The Merciful) Vr.37
And <strong>the</strong> heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.

On <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>the</strong> sky will be like murky oil,

And when <strong>the</strong> sky is stripped away.

THE DESCRIPTION OF THE SUN DURING THE HOUR.
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, <strong>the</strong> Most Merciful, <strong>the</strong> Specially Merciful.
When <strong>the</strong> sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
Al-Qur'aan Ch.81 At-Thakwir (The Overwhelming) Vr.1
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE STARS DURING THE HOUR.
So when <strong>the</strong> stars are obliterated
Al-Qur'aan Ch.77 Al-Mursalaath (The Emissaries) Vr.8
And when <strong>the</strong> stars fall, dispersing,
Al-Qur'aan Ch.81 At-Thakwir (The Overwhelming) Vr.2
CLEAVYNG ASUNDER OF THE MOON BEING A SIGN OF
THE APPROACHING HOUR WAS WITNESSED BY THE
PROPHET SALLALLAAHU 'ALAIHI WA SALLAAM, HIS
COMPANIONS AND SOME UNBELIEVERS IN THE VALLEY
OF MAKKAH.
The Hour has come near, and <strong>the</strong> moon has split [in two].
And if <strong>the</strong>y see a miracle, <strong>the</strong>y turn away and say, "Passing magic."
And <strong>the</strong>y denied and followed <strong>the</strong>ir inclinations. But for every matter
is a [time of] settlement.
And <strong>the</strong>y denied and followed <strong>the</strong>ir inclinations. But for every matter
is a [time of] settlement.
And <strong>the</strong>re has already come to <strong>the</strong>m of information that in which
<strong>the</strong>re is deterrence -
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [<strong>the</strong>m].
So leave <strong>the</strong>m, [O Muhammad]. The Day <strong>the</strong> Caller calls to
something forbidding,

So when vision is dazzled
And <strong>the</strong> moon darkens
And <strong>the</strong> sun and <strong>the</strong> moon are joined,
Man will say on that Day, "Where is <strong>the</strong> [place of] escape?"

RELATIONSHIP AMONGST MANKIND.
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each o<strong>the</strong>r, except for <strong>the</strong>
righteous

RELATIONSHIP AMONGST KITH AND KIN DURING THE
BLAST.
But when <strong>the</strong>re comes <strong>the</strong> Deafening Blast
On <strong>the</strong> Day a man will flee from his bro<strong>the</strong>r
And his mo<strong>the</strong>r and his fa<strong>the</strong>r
And his wife and his children,
For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.

NO MOTHER ABANDONS HER BABY AT HER BREAST. THE
EXPECTANT MOTHER CARRIES THE YOUNG LIFE WITH
GREAT CARE, PRIDE AND HOPE. COULD THE SAME LOVE
BE EXPECTED DURING THE HOUR?
On <strong>the</strong> Day you see it every nursing mo<strong>the</strong>r will be distracted from
that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort
her pregnancy, and you will see <strong>the</strong> people [appearing] intoxicated
while <strong>the</strong>y are not intoxicated; but <strong>the</strong> punishment of Allah is sever

THE DESERT ARAB'S MOST PRECIOUS ANIMAL IS THE SHE
CAMEL JUST ABOUT TO BE DELIVERED OF HER YOUNG.
WHAT WOULD BE HER PLIGHT DURING THE HOUR?
And when full-term she-camels are neglected.

WITH THE FIRST SOUNDING OF THE HORN AL-QAARIYA
(THE DAY OF CLAMOUR), AL-ZILZAAL (THE
CONVULSION), AL-INTHIFAR (CLEAVING ASUNDER), ATH-
THAKWEER (FOLDING UP), AND AS-SA'QAA (SWOON) WILL
FOLLOW. THEREAFTER WHAT WOULD ONE EXPECT
NEXT?
There will follow it <strong>the</strong> subsequent [one].
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,
Their eyes humbled.
They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our]
former state [of life]?
Even if we should be decayed bones?
They say, "That, <strong>the</strong>n, would be a losing return."
Indeed, it will be but one shout,
And suddenly <strong>the</strong>y will be [alert] upon <strong>the</strong> earth's surface.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.80 Abasa (Those Who Drag Forth) Vr.7-14
And <strong>the</strong> Horn will be blown, and whoever is in <strong>the</strong> heavens and
whoever is on <strong>the</strong> earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it
will be blown again, and at once <strong>the</strong>y will be standing, looking on.
And <strong>the</strong> earth will shine with <strong>the</strong> light of its Lord, and <strong>the</strong> record [of
deeds] will be placed, and <strong>the</strong> prophets and <strong>the</strong> witnesses will be
brought, and it will be judged between <strong>the</strong>m in truth, and <strong>the</strong>y will not
be wronged.
And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is
most knowing of what <strong>the</strong>y do.
And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when
<strong>the</strong>y reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did <strong>the</strong>re
not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you <strong>the</strong>
verses of your Lord and warning you of <strong>the</strong> meeting of this Day of
yours?" They will say, "Yes, but <strong>the</strong> word of punishment has come
into effect upon <strong>the</strong> disbelievers.

[To <strong>the</strong>m] it will be said, "Enter <strong>the</strong> gates of Hell to abide eternally
<strong>the</strong>rein, and wretched is <strong>the</strong> residence of <strong>the</strong> arrogant."
But those who feared <strong>the</strong>ir Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups
until, when <strong>the</strong>y reach it while its gates have been opened and its
keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it
to abide eternally <strong>the</strong>rein," [<strong>the</strong>y will enter].
And <strong>the</strong>y will say, "Praise to Allah , who has fulfilled for us His
promise and made us inherit <strong>the</strong> earth [so] we may settle in Paradise
wherever we will. And excellent is <strong>the</strong> reward of [righteous] workers."
And you will see <strong>the</strong> angels surrounding <strong>the</strong> Throne, exalting
[ Allah ] with praise of <strong>the</strong>ir Lord. And it will be judged between <strong>the</strong>m
in truth, and it will be said, "[All] praise to Allah , Lord of <strong>the</strong>
worlds."
Al-Qur'aanCh.39 Az-Zumar (The Troops) Vr.68-75
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be
resurrected?
And our forefa<strong>the</strong>rs [as well]?"
Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."
It will be only one shout, and at once <strong>the</strong>y will be observing.
They will say, "O woe to us! This is <strong>the</strong> Day of Recompense."
[They will be told], "This is <strong>the</strong> Day of Judgement which you used to
deny."
[The angels will be ordered], "Ga<strong>the</strong>r those who committed wrong,
<strong>the</strong>ir kinds, and what <strong>the</strong>y used to worship
O<strong>the</strong>r than Allah , and guide <strong>the</strong>m to <strong>the</strong> path of Hellfire
And stop <strong>the</strong>m; indeed, <strong>the</strong>y are to be questioned."
[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not
help each o<strong>the</strong>r?"
And <strong>the</strong>y will approach one ano<strong>the</strong>r blaming each o<strong>the</strong>r.
They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from <strong>the</strong> right."
The oppressors will say, "Ra<strong>the</strong>r, you [yourselves] were not believers,
And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing
people.

So <strong>the</strong> word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will
taste [punishment].
And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."
So indeed <strong>the</strong>y, that Day, will be sharing in <strong>the</strong> punishment.
Indeed, that is how We deal with <strong>the</strong> criminals.
Indeed <strong>the</strong>y, when it was said to <strong>the</strong>m, "There is no deity but Allah ,"
were arrogant
And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"
Ra<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> Prophet has come with <strong>the</strong> truth and confirmed <strong>the</strong>
[previous] messengers.
Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of <strong>the</strong> painful punishment,
And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -
But not <strong>the</strong> chosen servants of Allah .
Al-Qur'aan Ch.37 As-Saafaath (Those Who Set <strong>the</strong> Ranks) Vr.16-40
WHEN WE HAVE DIED AND BECOME DUST AND BONES,
ARE WE INDEED TO BE RESURRECTED?
In <strong>the</strong> Name of Allaah, <strong>the</strong> Most Merciful, <strong>the</strong> Specially Merciful.
And I swear by <strong>the</strong> reproaching soul [to <strong>the</strong> certainty of resurrection].
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.75 Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection) Vr.1-4
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE GRAVES DURING THE HOUR.
And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.
But does he not know that when <strong>the</strong> contents of <strong>the</strong> graves are
scattered
And that within <strong>the</strong> breasts is obtained,
Indeed, <strong>the</strong>ir Lord with <strong>the</strong>m, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.
Al-Qur'aan 100:8-11
So I swear by <strong>the</strong> Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are

To replace <strong>the</strong>m with better than <strong>the</strong>m; and We are not to be outdone.
The Day <strong>the</strong>y will emerge from <strong>the</strong> graves rapidly as if <strong>the</strong>y were,
toward an erected idol, hastening.
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover <strong>the</strong>m. That is <strong>the</strong> Day
which <strong>the</strong>y had been promised.
Al-Qur'aan 70:40-44
And <strong>the</strong>y denied and followed <strong>the</strong>ir inclinations. But for every matter
is a [time of] settlement. And <strong>the</strong>re has already come to <strong>the</strong>m of
information that in which <strong>the</strong>re is deterrence- Extensive wisdom - but
warning does not avail [<strong>the</strong>m]. So leave <strong>the</strong>m, [O Muhammad]. The
Day <strong>the</strong> Caller calls to something forbidding,Their eyes humbled, <strong>the</strong>y
will emerge from <strong>the</strong> graves as if <strong>the</strong>y were locusts spreading,
Their eyes humbled, <strong>the</strong>y will emerge from <strong>the</strong> graves as if <strong>the</strong>y were
locusts spreading, Racing ahead toward <strong>the</strong> Caller. The disbelievers
will say, "This is a difficult Day."
Al-Qur'aan Ch.54 Al-Qamar (The Moon) Vr.4-8
WHEN THE ANIMALS WOULD BE GATHERED TOGETHER.
And when <strong>the</strong> wild beasts are ga<strong>the</strong>red

MAN'S JOURNEY FROM DEATH TO THE DAY OF
JUDGENENT.
By those [angels] who extract (<strong>the</strong> soul) with violence
And [by] those who remove (<strong>the</strong> soul) with ease
Al-Qur'aan Ch.79 An-Naaziaath (Those who pull out) Vr.1-2
No! When <strong>the</strong> soul has reached <strong>the</strong> collar bones
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" And <strong>the</strong> dying one is certain
that it is <strong>the</strong> [time of] separation. And <strong>the</strong> leg is wound about <strong>the</strong> leg

Al-Qur'aan Ch.75 Al.Qiyamah (The Resurrection) Vr.26-29
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full]
compensation on <strong>the</strong> Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away
from <strong>the</strong> Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And
what is <strong>the</strong> life of this world except <strong>the</strong> enjoyment of delusion.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.3 'Aali Imraan (The Family of Imraan) Vr.185
Allah takes <strong>the</strong> souls at <strong>the</strong> time of <strong>the</strong>ir death, and those that do not
die [He takes] during <strong>the</strong>ir sleep. Then He keeps those for which He
has decreed death and releases <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs for a specified term. Indeed
in that are signs for a people who give thought.
Al-Qur'aan Ch.39 Az-Zumar (The Groups) Vr.42
[For such is <strong>the</strong> state of <strong>the</strong> disbelievers], until, when death comes to
one of <strong>the</strong>m, he says, "My Lord, send me back
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is
only a word he is saying; and behind <strong>the</strong>m is a barrier until <strong>the</strong> Day
<strong>the</strong>y are resurrected. So when <strong>the</strong> Horn is blown, no relationship will
<strong>the</strong>re be among <strong>the</strong>m that Day, nor will <strong>the</strong>y ask about one ano<strong>the</strong>r.
And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is <strong>the</strong>y who
are <strong>the</strong> successful. But those whose scales are light - those are <strong>the</strong>
ones who have lost <strong>the</strong>ir souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally.

CHAPTER SIX
SEVEN EXAMPLES OF RESURRECTIONS.
EXAMPLE ONE
IBRAAHEEM 'ALAI HISSALAAM (MAY ALLAAH HAVE
MERCY ON HIM) AND THE BIRDS.
And (mention) when Ibraaheem said, "My Rabb (Creator, Sustainer,
Destroyer, Recreator, Owner), show me how You give life to <strong>the</strong>
dead.?" (Allaah) said. "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but
(I ask) only that my heart may be satisfied." Allaah said, "Take four
birds and commit <strong>the</strong>m to yourself. Then (after slaughtering <strong>the</strong>m)
put on each hill a portion of <strong>the</strong>m ­ <strong>the</strong>y will come flying to you in
haste. And know that Allaah is Exalted in Might and Wise."
Al­Qur'aan Ch.2 Al­Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.260
EXAMPLE TWO
UZAYR AND THE RUINED TOWN.
Or consider (such an example) as <strong>the</strong> one who passed by a township
which had fallen into ruin. He said, "How will Allaah bring this back
to life after its death?" So Allaah caused him to die for a hundred
years; <strong>the</strong>n He revived him. He (Allaah) said, "How long have you
remained?" He (<strong>the</strong> man) said, "I have remained a day or a part of a
day." He (Allaah) said, "Ra<strong>the</strong>r, you have remained one hundred
years. Look at your food and look at you drink; it has not changed
with time. and look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for
<strong>the</strong> people. And look at <strong>the</strong> bones (of this donkey) ­ how We raise
<strong>the</strong>m and cover <strong>the</strong>m with flesh." And when it became clear to him,

he said, "I know that Allaah is over all things competent."
Al­Qur'aan Ch.2 Al­Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.259
EXAMPLE THREE
ZULKIFL 'ALAI HIS­SALAAM (MAY ALLAAH HAVE
MERCY ON HIM) AND THE PEOPLE WHO FLED FROM
THE PLAGUE.
Have you not considered those who left <strong>the</strong>ir homes in many
thousands, fearing death? Allaah said to <strong>the</strong>m "Die"; <strong>the</strong>n He
restored <strong>the</strong>m to life. And Allaah is full of bounty to <strong>the</strong> people, but
most of <strong>the</strong> people do not show gratitude.
Al­Qur'aan Ch.2 Al­Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.243
EXAMPLE FOUR
THE ARROGANCE OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.
And (Recall) when Moosaa (Moses) said to his people, "O my people,
indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of <strong>the</strong> calf (for
worship). So repent to you Creator and kill yourselves (i.e., <strong>the</strong> guilty
among you ). The best for (all of you) in <strong>the</strong> sight of your Creator."
Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is <strong>the</strong> Accepting of
repentance, <strong>the</strong> Merciful. And recall, when you said, " O Moosaa,
we will never believe you until we see Allaah outright;" so <strong>the</strong>
thunderbolt took you while you were looking on. Then We revived
you after your death that perhaps you would be grateful.

EXAMPLE FIVE
THE MAN WHO WAS MURDERED.
And recall when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allaah was
to bring out that which you were concealing. So We said, "Strike him,
(i.e., <strong>the</strong> slain man) with part of it (<strong>the</strong> cow)." Thus does Allaah bring
<strong>the</strong> dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.
Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stone or even
harder. For indeed, <strong>the</strong>re are stones from which rivers burst forth,
and <strong>the</strong>re are some of <strong>the</strong>m that split open and water comes out, and
<strong>the</strong>re are some of <strong>the</strong>m that fall down for fear of Allaah. And Allaah
is not unaware of what you do.
Al­Qur'aan Ch.2 Al­Baqarah (The Cow) Vr.72 ­ 74
EXAMPLE SIX
RESURRECTION AFTER THE THREE HUNDRED YEAR
SLEEP.
Or have you thought that <strong>the</strong> companions of <strong>the</strong> cave and <strong>the</strong>
inscriptions were, among our signs a wonder? (Mention) when <strong>the</strong>
youths retreated to <strong>the</strong> cave and said, "Our Rabb (Creator, Sustainer,
Destroyer, Recreator, Owner), grant us from Yourself mercy and
prepare for us from our affair right guidance." So We cast (a cover
of sleep) over <strong>the</strong>ir ears within <strong>the</strong> cave for a number of years. Then
We awakened <strong>the</strong>m that We might show which of <strong>the</strong> two factions
were most precise in calculating what (extent) <strong>the</strong>y had remained in
time. It is We who relate to you (O Muhammad), <strong>the</strong>ir story in truth.
Indeed, <strong>the</strong>y were youths who believed in <strong>the</strong>ir Rabb, and We
increased <strong>the</strong>m in guidance. And We bound (i.e., made firm) <strong>the</strong>ir
hearts when <strong>the</strong>y stood up and said, "Our Rabb is <strong>the</strong> Rabb of <strong>the</strong>

heavens and <strong>the</strong> earth. Never will we invoke besides Him any deity.
We would have certainly spoken, <strong>the</strong>n, an excessive transgression.
These, our people have taken besides Him deities. Why do <strong>the</strong>y not
bring for (Worship of) <strong>the</strong>m a clear authority? And who is more
unjust than one who invents about Allaah a lie?" (The youths said to
one ano<strong>the</strong>r,) " And when you have withdrawn from <strong>the</strong>m and that
which <strong>the</strong>y worship o<strong>the</strong>r than Allaah, retreat to <strong>the</strong> cave. Your Rabb
will spread out for you His mercy and will prepare for you from your
affair facility." And (had you been present), you would see <strong>the</strong> sun
when it rose, inclining from <strong>the</strong>ir cave on <strong>the</strong> right, and when it set,
passing away from <strong>the</strong>m on <strong>the</strong> left, while <strong>the</strong>y were (laying) within
an open space <strong>the</strong>reof. That was from <strong>the</strong> signs of Allaah. He whom
Allaah guides is <strong>the</strong> (rightly) guided, but he whom He leaves astray ­
never will you find for him a protecting guide. And you would think
<strong>the</strong>m awake, while <strong>the</strong>y were asleep. And We turned <strong>the</strong>m to <strong>the</strong> right
and to <strong>the</strong> left, while <strong>the</strong>ir dog stretched his foreleg to <strong>the</strong> entrance. If
you had looked at <strong>the</strong>m, you would have turned from <strong>the</strong>m in flight
and have been filled by terror. And similarly, We awakened <strong>the</strong>m
that <strong>the</strong>y might question one ano<strong>the</strong>r. Said a speaker from among
<strong>the</strong>m, "How long have you remained (here)? They said, "We have
remained a day or a part of a day." They said, "Your Rabb is <strong>the</strong> Most
Knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this
silver coin of yours to <strong>the</strong> city and let him look to which is <strong>the</strong> best of
food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let
no one be aware of you. Indeed, if <strong>the</strong>y came to know of you, <strong>the</strong>y will
stone you or return you to <strong>the</strong>ir religion. And never would you
succeed, <strong>the</strong>n ­ ever." And similarly, We caused <strong>the</strong>m to be found
that <strong>the</strong>y (who found <strong>the</strong>m) would know that <strong>the</strong> promise of Allaah is
truth and that of <strong>the</strong> Hour <strong>the</strong>re is no doubt. (That Was) when <strong>the</strong>y
(<strong>the</strong> people of <strong>the</strong> city) disputed about <strong>the</strong>mselves about <strong>the</strong> affair and

(<strong>the</strong>n) said, "Construct over <strong>the</strong>m a structure. Rabb is Most Knowing
about <strong>the</strong>m." Said those who prevailed in <strong>the</strong> matter, "We will surely
take (for ourselves) a Masjid (make it a place of worship)" . They
(i.e., <strong>the</strong> people) will say <strong>the</strong>re were three <strong>the</strong> fourth of <strong>the</strong>m being
<strong>the</strong>ir dog; and <strong>the</strong>y will say were five <strong>the</strong> sixth of <strong>the</strong>m being <strong>the</strong>ir
dog ­ guessing at <strong>the</strong> unseen; and <strong>the</strong> eighth of <strong>the</strong>m was <strong>the</strong>ir dog.
Say, (O Muhammad), "My Rabb is most knowing about <strong>the</strong>ir number.
None knows <strong>the</strong>m except a few. So do not argue about <strong>the</strong>m except
with an obvious argument (Al­Qur'aan) and do not inquire about
<strong>the</strong>m among (<strong>the</strong> speculators) from anyone." And never say of
anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow," except (when adding),
"If Allaah wills (Insha Allaah)." And remember your Rabb when
you forget (it) and say, "Perhaps my Rabb will guide me to what is
nearer than this is to right conduct." And <strong>the</strong>y remained in <strong>the</strong>ir
cave for three hundred years and exceeded by nine (according to <strong>the</strong>
lunar calendar). Say, "Allaah is Most Knowing of how long <strong>the</strong>y
remained. He has (knowledge of) <strong>the</strong> unseen (aspects) of <strong>the</strong> heavens
and <strong>the</strong> earth. How Seeing is He and how Hearing! They have not
besides Him any protector, and He shares not His legislation with
anyone."

EXAMPLE SEVEN
THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD LAND.
And it is He who sends <strong>the</strong> winds as good tidings before His mercy
until, when <strong>the</strong>y have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive <strong>the</strong>m to a
dead land and We send down rain <strong>the</strong>rein and bring forth <strong>the</strong>reby
[some] of all <strong>the</strong> fruits. Thus will We bring forth <strong>the</strong> dead; perhaps
you may be reminded.

brought forth from it grain, and from it <strong>the</strong>y eat. And We placed

forth <strong>the</strong>refrom some springs­ that <strong>the</strong>y may eat from His fruit. And
<strong>the</strong>ir hands have not produced it, so will <strong>the</strong>y not be grateful?
