National Volunteer Month
Hospital Celebrates the Commitment of Our Volunteers
On April 17, Sacred Heart Hospital’s
Volunteer Partners hosted their
annual Spring Recognition Luncheon
to acknowledge the efforts of the
many dedicated hospital volunteers.
In addition, it also provided a vehicle
to elect new board members for the
following year.
Over the past year, Sacred Heart’s
Volunteer Partners have performed
over 43,000 hours of service
estimated at more than $900,000.
In recognition of National Healthcare
Volunteer Month throughout April,
Sacred Heart Hospital honors
all hospital volunteers for their
commitment to excellence in
supporting staff toward providing
a superior patient experience for all
who come through our doors.
“The personalized care our
volunteers offer through their daily
commitment to Sacred Heart is truly
appreciated,” said Mary Pengra,
Director, Volunteer Services, Sacred
Heart Hospital.
“I can’t say enough about
how proud I am of their effort
and dedication to the mission
of the Hospital Sisters.”
Earth Day : Spreading Awareness and seeds!
Earth Day is a perfect time to reflect about what you are doing to help protect
the environment. Everyone shares the responsibility to do as much as they can to
preserve the planet’s natural resources today and for future generations. For that
reason, on April 20, Sacred Heart Hospital celebrated Earth Day by encouraging
physicians, colleagues, volunteers and visitors to protect the environment,
reduce carbon footprint, and reduce, reuse and recycle waste. Attendees of the
educational booths were also treated to free seed packets (donated by Botanical
Interests), a special “dirt cake” dessert, and Culligan Water demonstrations and
information.
