Mark Your Calendar Caring for the Caregiver (continued from page one) For more than 20 years, David Ferrell has wowed audiences across America with a high-energy mixture of hilarious stand-up comedy and outrageous impressions. The cost is $5 plus a non-perishable food item. Other speakers for this year’s Caring for the Caregiver include: Karen Alseth (meditation), Mary Pica Anderson (exercise), Threshold Singers, and WEAU’s Judy Clark as the emcee. The Healing Place - Free Community Event David Ferrell, Christian Comedian Thursday, May 3 7 - 8 pm Best Western Trail Lodge David Ferrell will also be featured during a special community event on Thursday, May 3, from 7 - 8 pm at the Best Western Trail Lodge. Sponsored by The Healing Place, Sacred Heart’s free grief support and holistic healing center, this event is free and open to the public. However advanced registration is required by May 1 by calling The Healing Place at (715) 717-6028. Life in Balance – Free Community Event Tuesday, May 15 5:30 pm Stella Blues in Eau Claire Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Hospitals are teaming up for a special presentation on “Life in Balance.” The program will take place May 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Stella Blues (306 East Madison Street, Eau Claire). Alice Heinzen, natural family planning coordinator with the Diocese of La Crosse, will address four areas of life: faith, family, vocation and work; and how to balance all four to bring the most joy. The evening will also include a floral arrangement demonstration by Avalon Floral of Eau Claire, as well as wellness and health information. Refreshments will be served. The event is free, but seating is limited. Advanced registration is required by calling (715) 717-1600.
Anne Ryder - Free Community Event Sunday, April 29 6 pm Florian Gardens Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital is pleased to bring noted TV journalist, writer and speaker Anne Ryder to Eau Claire for a free community presentation on April 29 at 6 p.m. at Florian Gardens (2340 Lorch Avenue, Eau Claire). Anne Ryder was the last person to interview Mother Teresa before her death in 1997. During her presentation, Anne will share the inspiration, motivation and guidance for providing spiritual care she gained during her visit to Calcutta. This community event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by calling Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital at 715-717-4925. Volunteer Partners Host Annual Purse Sale Monday, April 30 4-7 pm Tuesday, May 1 7 am – 5 pm Sacred Heart’s Bishop/Treacy Halls In addition to purses, patrons can purchase other items such as billfolds, scarves and other handy accessories.
