Repair Printer Replacing the Laser Head and adjusting the Fibre Coupling The Fibre can not be uncoupled from the module, but only from the Laser head. Purpose of the adjustment: Optimising the laser capacity by adjusting the fibre coupling on the laser head. Elements of the adjustment unit: − Fibre holder (1): Tube into which the fibre end is put − Adjustment screws (2): 4 knurled screws, Allan screws (size 2) Always 2 screws are used for the horizontal and the vertical direction. The screws are locked with spring-loaded knurled nuts. The lock nuts should be tightened slightly for the adjustment so that the adjustment screws are pretensioned. Caution: Fine thread − Pressure screws (3): 2 screws with a flat head and a spring-loaded Nylon tip are used for the fastening of the fibre in the adjustment unit. The screw on the laser side holds the fibre holder in the adjusted lateral position, the screw on the exit side fastens the lengthwise position of the fibre holder. − Fastening ring (4, no fig.) for the polarisation adjustment (must not be unscrewed!) − Allan screw (5), size 2 dlabr107 dlabr155 AGFA d-lab.3 2001-01-02 /PN 9009 6.4.47
Printer Repair Caution! Use only the rear black screw (3) on the fibre coupling to remove / insert the fibres upon the replacement of the laser or the laser module. If the 4 knurled screws (2) are slackened, the preadjustment (transmission of at least 40%) of the fibres is not given any more and the fibre transmission may be zero. Caution!
