Repair Scanner Scanner Calibration The following calibration procedures are performed automatically when required. It is not necessary that a technician or the operator intervenes. The Scanner contains several optical elements which are calibrated automatically. − Replacement of the light sensors in the lamphouse: The film drive software automatically finds the exact positions of the 3 light sensors in the lamphouse and the light sensor of the KG segments when the corresponding routines are called up. The positions are stored internally in an EEPROM. − White balance: Red, green, blue scan without a film to check the balance. Brightness changes, above all of the lamp brightness, are compensated. − CCD pixel correction Calibration Procedures, Correlations Performed upon: Calibration Pixel correction White balance IR adjustment Shutter damping Prescan Switch-on X X X X X Lamp change X X X X Mirror box inserted X X X X Negative carrier inserted (X) X X X Prescanner calibrated X X CCD dark reference defined X X X − X: The calibrations marked by an X must be performed when the corresponding component is modified. − (X): Required when a negative carrier is inserted for a different frame size.
