APS Magnetic Decoder
The APS magnetic decoder uses the data of the
magnetic track of an APS film and processes
them. The data is transmitted to the
algorithm/interface board for further assessment.
Coding on APS films:
− 2 magnetic tracks on which the operator can
save data by means of the APS camera
− 2 magnetic tracks on which the photofinisher can
alter or add product-specific data
− Film-specific information can be saved in the film
tip area
− Data that only holds for one frame (picture title,
aspect ratio, exposure data) is recorded in the
so-called negative data area
