A BRIEF HISTORY
Iron has been used ever since the times of the Sumerians
and the Egyptians who, as early as 4000 years before
Christ, used it for small objects, such as spearheads.
Today, iron alone accounts for 95% of global metal
production and is the main component in the most widely
used alloys: steel and cast iron.
IRON IN THE KITCHEN
Although it has almost disappeared from the modern
kitchen, it is used by the great international chefs as it is
non-stick and withstands high temperatures.
