Break, Enter & Steal on residential premises.<br />

Discussion Item<br />

‣ Crime overview PowerPoint for <strong>Gladesville</strong> LAC presented by Superintendent Duncan and Inspector Reimer. Crime<br />

generally stable or falling. Break and Enters on residential homes had increased substantially in the last quarter however<br />

<strong>Gladesville</strong> was still ranked number 64 in the State (out of 80). Overview of good arrests given and impact expected on<br />

BES crimes. Stealings had also increased substantially though this was anticipated with a new Retail outlet being<br />

opened.<br />

‣ Proactive poling results explained along with various operations and programs that were run in the <strong>Command</strong>.<br />

‣ Concerns raised regarding <strong>Police</strong> communications / black spots. Recommendation made that when police review<br />

development applications, communications should be a priority. Crime Prevention Officer to consider communications -<br />

ACTION.<br />

‣ PCYC - Sgt Duignan gave overview of Government plans for creation of new PCYC clubs (4 per year to be opened).<br />

Clubs to be developed in areas where juvenile crime / demand indicates need. <strong>Local</strong> Councils need to be able to identify<br />

facilities and bid. May need to consider RSL Youth Club / Salvation Army options. <strong>Gladesville</strong> LAC to work with Council<br />

to identify if crime / demands justify need for new PCYC – ACTION.<br />

‣ Attendance numbers / membership: Recommendation for representative of the Hunters Hill Neighbourhood Watch to<br />

attend Community Safety Precinct Committee Meetings - ACTION
