YARA Rostock is a subsidiary of YARA
International ASA, the world’s leading
supplier of plant nutrients, making an
important contribution as a large-scale
producer of nitrogen based fertilizers,
an essential ingredient in agriculture.
The production facilities are located at
its site in Poppendorf in the vicinity of
Rostock.
Ammonia vessel
Ammonia, the key raw material for all
nitrogen based fertilizers, is delivered to
Rostock-Port, where it is intermittently
stored in the company’s owned terminal
facilities at Rostock-Peez before being
pumped to the production site at Poppendorf
by underground pipeline.
These terminal facilities are also used for
global shipment of the liquid fertilizer.
Transport between the production site and
the port is arranged by a separate underground
pipeline.
YARA Rostock is a very attractive partner
for potential investors offering fully deve -
loped land designated for industrial use at
its premises in Poppendorf (approx.
110 hectares in total) and at Rostock-Port
in Peez (approx. 10 hectares).
Both locations have strong motorway or
railroad connections and can provide
substantial synergies with the available site
infrastructure; e.g. supply possibilities with
utilities (steam, electricity, water, natural
gas, …), use of services (YARA-fire
brigade, mechanical and electrical workshops,
laboratory, various site resident providers).
