THE NETHERLANDS: PROFILE OF MIM—A COMMUNITY MOTHERS PROGRAMME IN BREDA…7
In this section we introduce programmes designed to provide quality services to young
children and their families. In many cases, the programmes we profile are already
working as a resource in their country or region. Many have developed innovative
materials, practices, or training methods, which they are now introducing to others.
Some of the programmes being described have been rigorously evaluated by "scientific"
measures and others rely on anecdotal evidence to describe their impacts. The
descriptions below are taken primarily from materials sent to us by the programmes
being described and do not constitute endorsement of particular models. Our goal in
presenting them to you is to reflect the diversity of efforts being undertaken to address
the needs of young children and their families, and to encourage networking among
those involved in ECCD provision.
