moulting care.<br />
‣ Practicing <strong>of</strong> rearing in isolation chamber<br />
and wrap up method.<br />
‣ Maintenance <strong>of</strong> optimum temperature and<br />

5. Terminal<br />
The successful candidate will be capable <strong>of</strong> undertaking<br />

6. Duration: 150 hours<br />
7. Preface: The rearing <strong>of</strong> young age silkworm up to second moult is<br />
called chawki rearing. Rearing <strong>of</strong> young age Silkworms under<br />
ideal environmental conditions, feeding succulent, nutritious,<br />
tender leaves will make the larvae grow robust and make more<br />
stress tolerant during the late age rearing. Scientifically grown<br />
chawki will result in best performance in cocoon production.<br />
Therefore, skill development in chawki rearing is an important<br />
module.<br />
8. Job Pr<strong>of</strong>ile Employable in Chawki Rearing Centers (CRCs) and may be<br />
self employed.<br />

‣ Method <strong>of</strong> Incubation and black<br />
boxing.<br />
‣ Brushing methods.<br />
‣ Chawki rearing methods including<br />
isolation chamber and wrap up<br />
methods.<br />
‣ Importance <strong>of</strong> environmental<br />
conditions like light, air<br />
temperature and humidity and their<br />
manipulation.<br />
‣ Bed Spacing, chopping <strong>of</strong> mulberry<br />
leaves, feeding, bed cleaning,<br />
moulting and care during moult.<br />
‣ Use <strong>of</strong> lime and bed disinfectants.<br />
