Brass towel rails are manufactured using dezincification resistant brass, however it should be understood that the term ‘resistant’ 

does not entirely preclude the possibility of dezincification occurring. If you intend to install the product on an open (DHW) circuit, 

make reference to your local water authority to ensure dezincification has not previously occurred. Towel rails manufactured from 

brass tubing should not be installed on an open circuit if a water softener is present. Water analysis to determine the likelihood 

of dezincification is available at cost. 

Models suitable for indirect (closed) circuits only cannot be installed on an open circuit due to the item containing ferrous (steel) 

parts. Product compatibility is the responsibility of the installer.

(17th Edition) have identified particular zones within the bathroom to indicate what type of electrical equipment that can be installed.

Basins are not covered, however they are usually considered to be Zone 2. 

Providing that the space under the bath cannot be accessed without using tools to gain access, that space is considered to be out of zone. However, if in any 

doubt please check.

IP RATING GUIDE 

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating given to an enclosure states the degree of protection if offers by means of two digits. 

A summary of these is shown below; for a more detailed definition see IEC 529:1989, BSEN 65029:1992. 

FIRST DIGIT 

Protection against solid foreign 

objects and access to hazardous parts 

The first digit covers protection against entrance of solid objects 

which include hands and tools such as screwdrivers. At the lowest 

of seven levels, 0, no protection is offered, either of the equipment 

itself from damage by intrusionor of a person contacting live or 

moving parts. At the highest, 6 there shall be no entry of dust. 

SECOND DIGIT 

Protection against entrance of water 

The second digit covers the degree of protection against the entry 

of water, on a progressive scale. For example, number 1 indicates 

that dripping water shall have no harmful effect, and number 6, 

that water projected in powerful jets against the enclosure from 

any direction hall have no harmful effects. 

The letter X can be used instead of the first or second digit to 

indicate that tests have either not been made or are not applicable. 

Note: In the event of additional holes being drilled / pierced or 

knockouts removed, suitable measures should be taken to restore 

the products to the original ratings.

tubing and/or containing steel components suitable 

for closed/indirect circuits only. All rails are pressure 

tested to 100p.s.i (6.9 bar) air immersed in water. All 

models are fitted with 2 x 1/2” BSP F.I. connections. 

Alternative M.I. or compression fitting is available on 

request. 3/4” BSP connections available at extra cost 

on some models. 

A manual bleed air vent is fitted to all hot water/dual 

fuel models. Auto air vents available on request at 

additional cost. 

Pipe centres are provided as centre to 

centre tappings using the Vogue (UK) 

range of valves. 

Guarantee 

Vogue (UK) Ltd is a company that celebrates the wealth 

of traditional, quality handcrafted heated towel rails and 

radiators and is one of the last true manufacturers in the 

UK. Vogue branded towel rails installed within the UK are 

also covered by an extended 2, 10 or 20 Year Guarantee 

– subject to Terms & Conditions of guarantee against 

manufactoring defects. Components such as inset radiators 

not of our manufacture which become faulty by reason of 

defected materials are guaranteed to our suppliers 2 year 

guarantee only.
