Dear Student:
You are cordially invited to attend this year’s Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding Ceremony to
be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 beginning at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church,
777 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH. This event honors day and evening undergraduate
students eligible to receive degrees at Commencement on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
The hooding ceremony is a visible sign of a student’s academic achievement commensurate
with graduation from a degree program. The Mass is a Commencement tradition that gathers
together the academic community to give thanks for successes realized at Rivier College and
to ask for blessings on future endeavors. Therefore, you should be wearing your gown when
you arrive at the church hall and carry your hood with you. Students who have attained a
cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of the Fall 2011 semester will receive an Honors
Cord.
If you choose to participate, I ask that you arrive at the church hall no later than 5 p.m. so we
can begin the processional precisely at 6 p.m. If you have any questions regarding this event,

regalia (Graduation Gown and Hood Only) is required for this event. Please RSVP by
