D) Enterprise Modules/Units: Innovation, Entrepreneurship<br />

and Enterprise. This unit addresses the learning outcomes related<br />

to innovation, entrepreneurship and enterprise. It focuses on<br />

entrepreneurial approaches in both small start-up companies as<br />

well as larger established organizations.<br />

Another source of help to develop the business idea and entrepreneurial<br />

activities is Bristol University Business Angels which was<br />

established with the help and financial support from RED. They offer<br />

a range of services from market research and business planning to<br />

funding, marketing and accounting. And their services are free!<br />

The Student Development Unit at the University of Bristol Union<br />

provides training, advice and support to students involved in all<br />

sorts of activities including personal development courses run under<br />

the “Tooled Up” programme.<br />

E) The University maintains close links with the South West Regional<br />

Development Agency, through which a number of programmes are<br />

funded, and company links are set up. It also has links with Business<br />

West and other in the region, through which we are in a good position<br />

to support businesses and enterprise throughout the region.<br />

The Bristol Enterprise Network is the University’s facility to assist<br />

knowledge transfer among the high-tech, high-growth business community.<br />

The network, which is free to join, brings together regional, national<br />

and international organisations from both the commercial and academic<br />

arenas. It provides easy and rapid access to the knowledge, expertise,<br />

experience and equipment that is available.<br />

RED provides a professional service to support and promote research<br />

at the University, advising researchers on a range of European and<br />

overseas opportunities and providing guidance throughout the<br />

application process. As a result, Bristol is involved in numerous<br />

research consortia at the cutting edge of international research.<br />

companies. Strategic plan is defined in 2008- 2012. period with<br />

the following strategic goal: Excellence in commercialization and<br />
