conducting of professional practice of<br />

students in its member country or with<br />

partners abroad.<br />

University and UEM agree to mutually exchange<br />

information about the needs of service delivery<br />

for development of projects, use of laboratories,<br />

workshops, office space for seminars and other<br />

occasional needs.<br />

Taking into account the results achieved in<br />

the course of several years very successful<br />

and useful <strong>cooperation</strong> between a certain<br />

number of University units and the Institute<br />

for the Black Metallurgy AD Niksic,<br />

they officially signed the agreement on<br />

scientific and educational <strong>cooperation</strong>.<br />

Cooperation takes place through the following forms:<br />

• Teaching-practical exercises for students<br />

and postgraduates;<br />

• Services required for the development<br />

of master’s and doctoral theses;<br />

• Expertise;<br />

• Working on projects, new materials, and<br />

new products.<br />

In accordance with the agreement the<br />

Institute shall be obliged to put at the<br />

disposal the research equipment, expert<br />

staff for practical work and work in progress<br />

reports on the results of University research<br />

individually and in groups as a whole.<br />

Faculty of Metallurgy (FMT) (www.mtf.ac.me)<br />

provided on its own basis the <strong>cooperation</strong><br />

with companies, as well as Montenegrin<br />

municipalities where engineers are required<br />

to strengthen the staff capacities. Companies<br />

and institutions plan to successful students of FMT<br />

offer variety of forms of support through scholarships,<br />

vocational training and employment opportunities.<br />

Faculty of Economics in Podgorica<br />

(www.ekonomija.co.me), the oldest and<br />

largest University of Montenegro, similar to<br />

processes that occur at the level of the whole<br />

society, is undergoing a period of significant<br />

change. In terms of quality improvement and<br />

<strong>cooperation</strong> FE has established numerous<br />

contacts that have already been made<br />

under various forms of <strong>cooperation</strong> with the<br />

most successful companies in Montenegro<br />

and their signed agreements on long-term<br />

business <strong>cooperation</strong>.<br />

In addition, FE has a very rich and formalized<br />

<strong>cooperation</strong> with relevant institutions such as:<br />

• Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises;<br />

• Agency for Economic Restructuring and<br />

Foreign Investment of the Government<br />

of Montenegro;<br />

• Republican Secretariat for Development<br />

of Economy;<br />

• The Republican Employment Agency;<br />

• Republican Fund of the Pension and<br />

Disability Insurance;<br />

• Association of Independent Trade<br />

Unions of Montenegro;<br />

• Union of Employers of Montenegro;<br />

• Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro;<br />

• Montenegrin Association of Management<br />

and Entrepreneurship;<br />

• Development Fund of Montenegro.<br />

University of Montenegro, directly or<br />

through its unit cooperates with many<br />

scientific and educational institutions<br />

in the country and abroad. Cooperation<br />

with foreign countries is realized within<br />

the framework of international university<br />

associations and networks, as well as<br />

through bilateral agreements.<br />

Since 2002, The University of Montenegro carried<br />

out several projects within the framework of<br />

the program of the EU: TEMPUS, SOCRATES, and<br />

ERASMUS-MUNDUS. University of Montenegro<br />

achieved significant <strong>cooperation</strong> with the UNESCO,<br />

the Council of Europe, American Council, OM WUS<br />

Austria, British Council, DAAD, etc.<br />
