during studies. Target groups are: seniors of<br />

all faculties of the University of Tuzla, the<br />

young people who have recently graduated<br />

and have not found employment yet, but<br />

who want to acquire entrepreneurial skills<br />

and graduate students.<br />

4.2.3.7 University Džemal Bijedic in Mostar<br />

The two institutes have been established at<br />

the University: The Institute of Mechanical<br />

Engineering and The Institute of Design<br />

and material and construction testing of<br />

Civil Engineering Faculty. The Institute<br />

of Mechanical Engineering was the carrier<br />

of scientific work, the holder of knowledge<br />

transfer, the bridge between industry and<br />

universities, the connection between the<br />

production process of fundamental research<br />

and higher education. In the Department<br />

of Design and material and construction<br />

testing the laboratory has been equipped<br />

for geomechanic testing, power unit testing,<br />

and testing of concrete and its components,<br />

chemical and construction testing, as well<br />

as geodesic measurements. This creates<br />

the conditions for the strengthening of the<br />

Institute and the inclusion in the teaching<br />

process and development projects.<br />

4.2.3.8 University of Mostar<br />

University of Mostar is a participant of the project<br />

‘’Quality Management Procedure for Promoting<br />

University-Enterprise Cooperation’’, Tempus<br />

programme n ° CM_SCM-C024A06-2006.<br />

The initiative has been started to establish<br />

the Technology Park Mostar. The objectives<br />

of the Technology Park Mostar are:<br />

• To assist in the establishment, growth and<br />

development of technical companies which<br />

are currently needed in the region and those<br />

that can export their products and services;<br />

• To raise the competitiveness of the entire<br />

region, based on technological development;<br />

• To promote and derive innovation;<br />

• To support and stimulate research in<br />

<strong>cooperation</strong> with the faculties of natural<br />

and technical sciences;<br />

• To develop personnel resources through<br />

seminars, courses and workshops;<br />

• To organise technical education for the<br />

youth;<br />

• To pularise technical and engineering<br />

professions.<br />

4.2.3.9 University of Bihac<br />

University of Bihac has seven faculties.<br />

Technical University of Bihac has launched<br />

several projects aimed at improving the<br />

teaching process and knowledge and<br />

technology transfer in the industry.<br />

4.2.3.10 Local communities<br />

Development agencies have an important<br />

role the development of local communities.<br />

Some of the agencies in BiH are listed below.<br />

Republic Agency for development of small<br />

and medium enterprises in Banja Luka<br />

was founded with the aim to support the<br />

establishment and development of small and<br />

medium enterprises and entrepreneurship<br />

in Republic of Srpska. Republic Agency for<br />

develop-ment of small and medium enterprises<br />

formed several regional development centers<br />

in the Republic of Srpska.<br />

The objectives of the agency are:<br />

• Increasing the participation of SMEs in<br />

the overall industry of Republika Srpska;<br />

• Modifying the structure of activities<br />

with the increase of participation of<br />

productive activities and services in the<br />

gross domestic product;<br />

• Increasing technological development,<br />

competitiveness and opening new markets<br />

for small and medium enterprises;<br />

• Increasing the number of enterprises and<br />

newly employed workers in these enterprises;<br />

• Education for entrepreneurship and training<br />

of entrepreneurs;
