Music Association ..
This week we have distributed tickets for our Gourmet Hamper Raffle
to all music families. Tickets are $5.00 for a book of 5 - they will
also be available on Parent Teacher Interviews to purchase, and it
will be drawn on April 16th. Thank you for your support!
On Monday 4th March at 7.30pm, we are having our annual General
Meeting and would love to welcome any new parent along to
our group.
We are a fun group that helps out with all the music concerts that
are held throughout the year, and enjoy fundraising to help the Music
Department purchase new instruments and equipment that are
much needed.
We would love to see you there!
Careers ..
YEAR 12
Interviews are underway and hopefully this process will be completed
by the first few weeks of Term 2. Most students have spent
valuable time planning their career pathway for 2014. In upcoming
Common periods, guest speakers from several tertiary institutions
will visit the college and in the last week of Term 2 all students will
attend the TIS (Tertiary Information Session) at Deakin University,
where they will view an expo as well as listen to a range of guest
speakers about the VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre)
process for applications for University or TAFE for 2014.
YEAR 10
Work Experience 2013
Another reminder to parents and students that this year’s Work
Experience is from June 24th –June 28th, the last week of Term 2.
Competition for quality jobs is fierce and we strongly encourage
all students who have not commenced the process to decide on a
type of job and put together an application.
All contracts (paperwork) must be submitted as soon as possible
and this year all formal placement applications will close in May.
Contact Mrs Miriklis if you have any queries.
MIP’s Interviews
Interviews of Year 10 students have commenced and each student
will have a career pathway plan mapped out by the middle of Term
2. In career focussed common periods students will be exposed to
ideas and information that will equip them to make sound choices
for their VCE/VCAL studies for 2014.
