ABOUT RIGHTS OF WOMEN<br />
<strong>Rights</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Women</strong> works to atta<strong>in</strong> justice and equality by <strong>in</strong>form<strong>in</strong>g, educat<strong>in</strong>g and empower<strong>in</strong>g<br />
women on their legal rights. Founded <strong>in</strong> 1975, we are a not for pr<strong>of</strong>it voluntary organisation. Our<br />
core service is our advice l<strong>in</strong>e which <strong>of</strong>fers free, confidential legal advice to women. We also<br />
specialise <strong>in</strong> provid<strong>in</strong>g high quality, practical and accredited tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the area <strong>of</strong> women’s rights.<br />
Our <strong>courses</strong> are especially popular with community and voluntary organisations work<strong>in</strong>g directly<br />
with women. Our tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g programmes are valued for mak<strong>in</strong>g the law transparent, accessible<br />
and user friendly, giv<strong>in</strong>g you the knowledge and skills to enable your service users to access<br />
justice.<br />

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THE LAW<br />

This updated course to accompany <strong>Rights</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Women</strong>’s highly acclaimed Domestic Violence DIY<br />
Injunction Handbook provides:<br />
● an overview <strong>of</strong> the civil law on domestic violence <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the new Domestic Violence Crime<br />
and Victims Act 2004<br />
● non-molestation and occupation orders<br />
● who can apply for an order?<br />
● how to apply for an order<br />
● court practice and procedure – <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g fill<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the forms and serv<strong>in</strong>g the order<br />
● how the new law will affect the enforcement <strong>of</strong> orders<br />
