Revitalising the core of the village
New commercial and residential property ‘Mühlehof’ in Uzwil, Canton St. Gallen, CH
As the population grows, so do the requirements
for infrastructure and services in a
village. The population of Uzwil had to wait
a long time for the revitalisation of its village
centre. Having been commissioned as design and build
contractor by the SIAT Fund, a Credit Suisse property fund,
Rhomberg is undertaking the construction of the commercial
and residential Mühlehof property in the centre of
Uzwil. The new building will enhance the village centre and
have a positive impact on the whole region. The Mühlehof
has been designed to meet a number of needs. It includes
areas for shops, restaurants, offices and apartments. Adequate
parking has been provided in the underground car
park.
The building has been designed to be in keeping with the
surrounding area. To achieve this, the building has been
partly sunk into the slope of the terrain. The heart of the
building complex is formed by an atrium which connects
the different parts of the property and thereby unifies it.
An attractive glass roof covers the shopping mall.
Laying the foundation stone for the Mühlehof project as part of the
revitalisation of the village centre.
The first lease contracts have already been signed. Leases
have been taken up by a Swiss discount supermarket, a fitness
centre and two doctors surgeries. The opening of the
Mühlehof has been scheduled for the end of August 2010.
