The maintenance and evacuation of railway tunnels
always involves a high risk element. The unique
orientation and guidance system, handraiLIT, quickly
and simply leads the way to improved safety.
Increased safety through redundant
power supplies
A failure of one piece of the power supply network
has no effect on the proper functioning of handraiLIT,
thanks to the redundancy built into the power feed
arrangements. Complete and consistent lighting is
therefore effectively guaranteed.
The latest LED technology ensures
a long service life
The complete handrail is available in two different
versions. Either as linear or point-lighting systems.
The latest LED technology used in both systems
means the probability of an outage is very small.
The particularly long service life makes handraiLIT the
perfect orientation and guidance lighting system to
suit all requirements.
Recess lighting
handraiLIT can also be readily used as recess lighting
in railway tunnels, with no special tools or expensive
additional materials required for installation.
The handraiLIT for this application is assembled form
standard components. This saves time and money.
The same maintenance and cleaning regimes can be
used. Point and linear systems are equally suitable
for recess lighting applications.
Emergency signs can also be illuminated using the
same components.

handraiLIT is a modern, cost-effective orientation and
guidance system for railway tunnels and many other
applications. The illuminated handrail ensures the
highest level of safety. Its excellent user-friendliness,
low maintenance requirements and compliance
with all applicable standards and regulations mean
handraiLIT can meet the highest demands.

Simple, problem-free installation
handraiLIT is quick and simple to assemble and install.
Special tools are not needed. A further big advantage:
the installed elements can be disassembled in just a
few minutes – for example for servicing.
Linear lighting
In this system, an LED light strip is inserted into the
profile tube. Each LED point light source is wired and
cast into these strips. Cleaning is therefore extremely
simple. The LEDs are also protected from external
influences. Unlike the point lighting, the linear lighting
can optionally be fitted with different LEDs. The
system can also be fitted with RGB and supplied in
individual colours. Another advantage of linear over
point lighting lies in the wiring and assembly costs.
The LEDs arrive already wired into the strips.
Consequently less cable has to be run through the
profile tube. The strips are simply connected, one after
the other.

Cleaning up to 100 bar
It is a known fact that railway tunnels are dirty, often
extremely dirty. As a rule this requires cleaning with
high water pressure devices. handraiLIT withstands
pressures of up to 100 bar without any distress.
Each part and component is specially designed so
that the handraiLIT remains fully functional, even
after high-pressure cleaning.
Point lighting

Individual LEDs are quite simply pushed into the profile
tube. Each segment, which can be up to 2.20 m
long, is fitted with two LEDs. The LEDs are positioned
near the handrail attachment points. All lighting elements
are easily connected on site using ordinary
plug and socket connections, which are concealed
inside the handrail. The whole system is then permanently
installed. A big plus for point lighting: only the
individual lights have to be cleaned, which minimises
the cleaning bill.
