Parts of the environmental profile are building blocks for subsequent
spatial development products, such as the programme demands, master
plan, zoning plan, project agreement and building plan. This process helps to
reinforce the cohesion of the environmental input throughout the planning
phases as the various parties pass on the responsibility to each other
(such as urban developer to architect, contractor and consumer). This
requires consultation at an early stage between the project leader and the
representative from the Environmental Department regarding the input of
the environmental profile and the activities, defined responsibilities and
arising costs.
