Visitors passes are available at the <strong>Albany</strong> County Convention<br />

Parking Meters: All <strong>Downtown</strong> <strong>Albany</strong>’s streets are metered. There are<br />
two different types of meters. Pay and Display Meters accept Credit Cards<br />
(Visa, Mastercard and Discover) and all US coins except pennies. And,<br />
Single Space Meters accept only U.S. quarters, gold-colored (Sacagawea<br />
and Presidential) dollar coins and CASHKEYS. Other coins will not register time<br />
on the meters.<br />
Pay and Display Meters are long term meters that allows 10 hours of parking.<br />
Single Space Meters generally allow parking for 1 to 10 hours with the most<br />
common duration that is 2 hours. Signs are posted every block, advising of the<br />
parking time limit for meters.<br />
On-Street Meters operate Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, with the<br />
exception of certain national holidays. Off-Street Meters operate Monday through<br />
Saturday all day long.<br />
A prepaid CASHKEY for use in the meters is available via the <strong>Albany</strong> Parking<br />
Authority at 655 Broadway Monday-Friday 8:30 am-3:45 pm or it can be purchased<br />
online at park<strong>albany</strong>.com.<br />

The NYS Museum features 12 new exhibitions each year on a wide<br />
range of subjects. Ongoing exhibitions include the 25,000 square-foot<br />
“Windows on New York” exhibition with an historic working carousel,<br />
the nation’s first permanent museum exhibition of artifacts documenting<br />
the 9/11 World Trade Center attack and its aftermath, a walk-in Iroquois<br />
longhouse, the gigantic Cohoes Mastodon, New York City subway car and<br />

33 Irish American Heritage Museum<br />
The Irish American Heritage Museum’s mission is to preserve and tell<br />
the story of the contributions of the Irish people and their culture in<br />
America, inspiring individuals to examine the importance of their own<br />
heritage as part of the American cultural mosaic. The museum provides<br />
year-round access, especially by school groups, to our exhibits, our Paul<br />
O’Dwyer Library, lectures, presentations, film screenings, book signings<br />
and other special programs.<br />
