The tower contains the infrared-receiver which passes on the signals
of the infrared-transmitter (located in the WIRELESS speed
controller) to the Carrera DIGITAL 124/132 car. In order to be able to
receive the signals permanently the WIRELESS transmitter (speed
controller) should be kept at a maximum range of 3 metres from the
receiver/tower in visibility (cf. Fig. 1 and 2 ). To achieve a larger
receiving radius a further receiver/tower can be connected to the
Black Box (cf. Fig. 2 ).
To operate the WIRELESS speed controller 3 x AA (R6) batteries
are required (not included in delivery). A reduced range between the
speed controller and the receiver/tower and a minor driving performance
of the vehicles are an indication of a battery power drop. In this
case the batteries need to be exchanged at the bottom of the speed
controllers (fi g. 1 ) as illustrated (fi g. 2 ).
Using new batteries/rechargeable batteries a permanent playing
time of approx. 48 hours or a standby time of approx. 200 hours
can be assumed.
ATTENTION:
Operation with rechargeable batteries is not possible.
Please connect the receiver as shown in fi gure 1 . When connecting
one tower it is irrelevant which speed controller-connector you
choose to connect the receiver/tower. Please take into consideration
that the WIRELESS system only works with the signals of the
WIRELESS speed controller being able to be received by the receiver,
not being interrupted by any objects or persons.
The Carrera 124/132 Black Box allows a mixed operation of WIRE-
LESS- and wired speed controllers ( up to a maximum of 6 speed
controllers).
Switch on Black Box as per fi gure 2 . Turn on speed controller on
bottom-side (fi g. 3 ). Directly after the speed controller has been
switched on the speed controller´s encoding will be indicated by
the number of fl ashings, see fi gure 4 (e.g. fl ashing 3x = speed
controller 3). After 2 seconds the LED switches to a fl ashing rhythm
at regular intervals indicating readiness for operation. In case the
speed controller is not activated it automatically switches to the
energy-saving mode after 20 seconds. By pressing the tappet or the
lane-change-button the speed controller can be reactivated.
