Ed Creske, who founded the company in
1953, remains a firm believer in helping

Recycled Glass
I
n
1999 a Wausau Tile product
development team met with scientists
at Columbia University. It was the
first step in what has become a major
breakthrough in our industry; the ability
to combine concrete with recycled glass.
Until that time, mixing the two was as
difficult as blending oil and water. After
the research, came the discovery that all
of Wausau Tile’s concrete-based products
could indeed contain recycled glass.
Today, Wausau Tile is the leading
manufacturer of dependable concretebased
products containing recycled
glass. The colors afforded by this unique
process, combined with recycling tons of
glass, make these products special.
