5 Chapter 5. Initial configuration settings This chapter suggests initial settings for several relevant parameters. These values are not optimal in all cases, but the values work well in internal IBM performance evaluations. They are, at a minimum, useful starting points for many proof-of-concepts and customer deployments. As described in 4.1, “Performance tuning methodology” on page 48, tuning is an iterative process.
