Ordinance No. 26-2005 Parking Regulations
Resolution No. 106 – Introduced by Botta, seconded by Nalbandian
BE IT RESOLVED that an ordinance entitled; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND
SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER VIII OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF RAMSEY,
BERGEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY AND MORE SPECIFICALLY SECTION 8-2 ENTITLED
MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS AND ON STREET PARKING AREAS DESIGNATED AND
SECTION 8-3 ENTITLED PARKING RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS pass the first
reading by title, and that said ordinance be further considered for final passage and adoption at a
regular meeting of the Mayor and Council to be held on the 28 th day of September, 2005, at 8:45
p.m. prevailing time or as soon thereafter as the matter can be reached, at the Municipal Building in
said Borough, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Clerk be and she hereby is, instructed to
publish in an official newspaper of the Borough in the manner provided by law a copy of said
ordinance together with notice of introduction thereof and notice when the same will be considered
for final passage and adoption.
Councilman Botta stated that this ordinance will expand some parking in the downtown area and
open up parking on the Prospect Street side, all the way down to Mechanic. It will also allow
employees of our community businesses to use the lot across the street. They will be able to obtain
employee placards. We are working on getting shared parking, but not in this ordinance.
Councilwoman O’Brien stated that she agrees with everything in this ordinance but has some
concerns that we passed an ordinance two years ago regarding Prospect Street and it did not do what
it was supposed to do. Now, we are passing it again. I requested shopper’s parking and that is not
included in this ordinance. It bothers me that we have to go back and change the ordinance later.
We have a commercial vehicle ordinance and a sump pump ordinance that need to be addressed.
Without the shopper’s parking, I will not be able to vote yes for ordinance 26-2005.
Councilman Ratto indicated that he will vote yes, subject to further review. The lunch patrons at
Brady’s are restricted.
Councilman Nalbandian stated that we are trying to move slowly with respect to parking. It is very
limited. As we see how things fall into place, we can amend ordinances. We are not trying to make
things difficult and we have to go at a reasonable pace.

Ordinance No. 27-2005 MacFarran Field Recreation Fieldhouse
Resolution No. 107 – Introduced by Ratto, seconded by Heller
BE IT RESOLVED that an ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A RECREATION FIELD HOUSE LOCATED AT MACFARRAN FIELD
AND TO APPROPRIATE THE SUME OF $200,000.00 TO PAY THE COST THEREOF pass the
first reading by title, and that said ordinance be further considered for final passage and adoption at a
regular meeting of the Mayor and Council to be held on the 28 th day of September, 2005, at 8:45
p.m. prevailing time or as soon after as the matter can be reached, at the Municipal Building in said
Borough, and
