Land Tenure / Proprietorship<br />
There are public and private areas. The area within the boundaries <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the buffer z<strong>on</strong>e<br />
comprises settlements, agriculture lands, military z<strong>on</strong>es, treatment facilities and<br />
industrial establishments besides the wetland ecosystems.<br />
C<strong>on</strong>servati<strong>on</strong> Statuses<br />
An 8.000-ha part <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Gediz Delta had been designated as wildlife protecti<strong>on</strong> area in 1982<br />
<br />
variety <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> birds. This status was terminated in 2007 and the site was given the wetlands<br />
status. The status <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> wildlife protecti<strong>on</strong> site is desired to be regained to the site.<br />
It was decreed as <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ramsar</str<strong>on</strong>g> Site in 1998.<br />
The Ministry <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Culture decreed the whole site a Natural SIT Area <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 1 st Degree in 1999<br />
and in 2002 the marine boundaries <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Natural SIT Area <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 1 st Degree were delineated.<br />
