Two birdwatching towers are built in the site for the visitors. Because there is no walktrack<br />
arrangements, visitors use the existing pathways and routes used by the local<br />
people. The owners <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> guest houses organize boat tours aboard caiques moved by quants<br />
i<strong>on</strong> site. These boat tours can be<br />
d<strong>on</strong>e when the water level is high.<br />
Use for Research Purposes<br />
Due to its ecological characteristic and biodiversity, Sultan Marshes has served as an<br />
open laboratory for the scientific researches to Gazi, Hacettepe<br />
Universities Envir<strong>on</strong>ment, Agriculture and Science Faculties.<br />
WETLAND MANAGEMENT PLAN<br />
GEF-II Project for sustainable development, supported by the World Bank, was launched<br />
in the regi<strong>on</strong> in 2000. Sultan Marshes Wetland Management Plan, prepared in 2007, is<br />
still being implemented.<br />
