GEOLOGICAL ASPECTS<br />
The top unit is Upper Paleozoic (dating back to 545-251 milli<strong>on</strong> years before today) old<br />
marble. With an expansi<strong>on</strong> in limited area, the unit is gray in color with a lot <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> fissure<br />
and fractures as well as cellular soluti<strong>on</strong>. Neocene (dating back to 23.8 1.81 milli<strong>on</strong><br />
years before today) is represented with c<strong>on</strong>glomerate, marl, silt, clay, limest<strong>on</strong>e and<br />
siliceous limest<strong>on</strong>e levels in a vast area. The limest<strong>on</strong>e that caused karstificati<strong>on</strong> and<br />
formati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> sinkholes also bel<strong>on</strong>gs to this period and is almost 3.000 m in thickness.<br />
Over the Paleozoic and Neocene, come the Quaternary (covers the past 2 milli<strong>on</strong>-year<br />
period) alluvi<strong>on</strong>s. Besides these;; basaltic lava, tuffite and pyroklastic material formed as<br />
<br />
units in the site.<br />
BIOLIGICAL ASPECTS<br />
Habitats<br />

microorganisms in the water is known to exist. The sinkhole is surrounded by plains,<br />
natural structure <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> which used to be shrublands, however transformed into agriculture<br />
lands in time.<br />
