• Temperature regulator with modulating output, PI-characteristic
• Universal adjustable temperature limitation
• Setpoint range for main and limitation function –15…+60°C
For temperature regulation by controlling an actuator with reversible servomotor,
particularly for regulation of the room temperature with limitation of the
minimum supply air temperature, limitation of the maximum supply water temperature
and others.
Description
The regulator has a three-step output with an electronic PI-feedback for driving
an actuator with a reversible servomotor. It compares the set point with the actual
temperature measured by the main sensor and drives the connected actuator
stepwise until the deviation is within the thresholds. If the temperature measured
by the limitation sensor reaches the adjusted minimum resp. maximum
value, the limitation sensor takes over the regulation (absolute limitation).
On the front, there are separate control knobs for main and limitation function,
further LEDs indicating the actual command for warmer or colder.
A setpoint remote control and an indicator for temperature indication are connectable
to the device.
RAM 3-Step PI-Regulator type 431.011.
Electronic temperature regulator with universal limitation,
LEDs and connectivity for remote controls and indicators.
Plastic case 70x100x105mm for rail and panel mounting.
Setpoint ranges –15…+60°C.
Power supply 230V~, enclosure rating IP 40.
If a setpoint remote control is connected, the main setpoint (“Hauptsollwert”) of
the regulator has to be set to 20°C.
Adjustment of the limitation
The limitation setpoint (“Begrenzungssollwert”) defines the operating point of
the limitation. Function and mode are chosen by the slide switch "Begrenzung"
inside the device:
Min – Max ... function as minimum or maximum limitation,
direkt – invers ... mode of limitation direct - inverse.
The required setting depends on the temperature change at the limitation sensor
in comparison with the change at the main sensor. If the temperature at the
main sensor increases after driving the actuator and the temperature
at the limitation sensor also increases - direct mode,
at the limitation sensor decreases - inverse mode.
Adaption to the controlled system
The feedback (“Rückführung”, P-band Xp of the PI-feedback) serves for stabilization
of the main resp. limitation loop.
Reference value for room and exhaust air regulation about Xp=20…30K, for
supply air and supply water regulation (limitation) about Xp=10K.
(These reference values are valid for ~2min motor running time. For longer running
times corresponding lower values are preferable.)
Mounting
The device is intended for wall and panel mounting.
Wall mounting is possible by snapping on a 35mm assembly
rail or with screws. For panel mounting an accessory
type 999.401 is required.
Basic circuit (fig. 1)
Output optionally for heating (warmer = open) or cooling
(colder = open).
Select the suitable version of the temperature sensor
from the RAM sensor program and complete the part
number.
To deactivate the limitation, bridge terminal 18 -19, if
“Min” is chosen or disconnect the limitation sensor, if
“Max” is chosen (setting of the limitation setpoint is arbitrary).
Options
Connection of setpoint remote control and indicator
(fig. 2)
Digital indicators have to be connected according to
data sheet series 242/fig. 3.
Circuits with time program
Lowering the setpoint at night with a timer (fig. 3)
The day setpoint is adjusted on the regulator or on a
remote control (acc. to fig. 2).
Further circuit options:
- Separate remote controls for day and night setpoint
switched by a timer, see data sheet series 230.
- Remote setting in the room and activation of the
lowering at night by a timer, see data sheet 238.
