Homeowners Stuart O. Mahler Public Safety Director Security Security receives a lot of phone calls from your fellow neighbors regarding cars in driveways because their garages are being utilized for storage instead of parking vehicles inside the garage. When MCC staff observes that two cars are not able to be parked inside a garage we generate a letter to the property owner indicating our observation and seeking compliance in a timely manner. There are exceptions and grace periods granted. If you only own one car you are good, please let us know. If you are renovating the interior of your house and are storing items in the garage that is OK, please let us know. So if you receive a letter and there are circumstances just let us know. If there are no circumstances please arrange so you may park two cars in the garage. To address member concerns and inquiries, security is in the process of inventorying common driveways and streets to identify houses which continually park one or two cars in their driveways. This could be an indication of items in a garage which prevents the parking of two vehicles inside. If you receive a letter and there are circumstances call security so we may discuss and update our records. The last thing we want to do is utilize the new section in your Rules and Regulations which allow us to inspect your garage with 24 hour prior notice. Here are some pertinent sections from the rules and Regulations: E2. GARAGES E2.1 For security and appearance purposes, garage doors are to remain closed except for access or other reasonable uses. E2.2 Garages must be maintained in a condition that allows two vehicles to be parked inside. E2.3 Association has the right upon proper 24 hour notice to the resident to request inspection of the garage to ensure compliance of Association regulations in accordance with CC&R 3.02 (z). E3.2 In the interest of public safety, no parking is allowed on common driveways except in designated parking spaces. Parking in the designated parking spaces is limited to 24 hours. E3.3 Residents must park their vehicles in their garage to its design capacity at all times in accordance with CC&R 3.02 (q). Security is striving to minimize the complaints regarding parking and your help will be greatly appreciated. Stuart O. Everything out on the course appears to be looking good and the golf season sounds like it’s going to be busy with some of the upcoming tournaments. I hope to see everyone having a wonderful time playing the course. With the peak golfing season upon us, I thought this might be a great opportunity and the perfect venue to give a few pointers that each member can participate in to help preserve our golfing conditions. Ball Marks: Remember to avoid the "pick and lift" motion which tends to tear the roots on the greens and leads to the dead pot mark. Instead, try to mend the edges of the ball mark toward the center point without lifting. This motion coupled with a few taps of the putter will preserve the aesthetics, health and playability of the greens. Carts on Fairways: Keep pull carts at least 5 feet away from tees and green boxes. • Pull carts must not be pulled between tees or greens; all carts must stay at least 50 feet away from the edge of all greens, tees and sensitive areas. • Carts should never be taken across excessively wet or stressed areas Summer is just around the corner, which means that we will be starting many of our maintenance practices that help reduce summer stress on the golf course. These maintenance practices include syringing greens, fertilizer and fungicide applications and proper irrigation practices. Please be patient with the staff as they are trying to do their best to maintain the golf course. Also, we start with our preventive fungicide applications for turf-grass disease early in the spring and it will continue during the summer months. Luis Ballesteros, Golf Course Superintendent 15
