Prices and Terms of DB Schenker Rail Provisions Relating to Intermodal Transport 1 Scope and General Information This document sets out DB Schenker Rail prices and terms for intermodal transport. It also includes the supplementary provisions governing national intermodal transport. In addition, the DB Schenker Rail General Provisions for Freight Transport Services and the Provisions Relating to Privately Owned Freight Wagons/Freight Wagons of Other Keepers shall apply. Within the terms of this document, intermodal transport is understood to mean the carriage of loaded or empty containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers. Containers with a height of more than 2,603 mm (8‘ 6 1 ⁄2‘‘) may exceed the railway’s loading gauge and, if delivered by road, may exceed the maximum height of 4 m permitted by the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). For the forwarding of such containers, special transport conditions must be agreed with DB Schenker Rail. The General Terms and Conditions of DB Schenker Rail for the Performance of Services (ALB), as amended from time to time, shall apply. A container, swap body or semi-trailer is equivalent to a single loading unit (LU). A consignment is understood to mean the LUs dispatched under a single container consignment note. The customer is responsible for ensuring that, where loading units are loaded, the fastening mechanisms are secured using means of securement (such as seals). 2 Approved goods Types of goods Goods of all types in containers, swap bodies 1) and semi-trailers, as well as empty containers, swap bodies 1) and semi-trailers. NHM Position/Code The NHM code will depend on the type of goods loaded in the containers, swap bodies and semitrailers, or on the empty containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers. 1) Swap bodies and semi-trailers (loaded or empty) will only be accepted for forwarding if they are codified.
