CCDC completed work on the revision to CCDC 2 – Stipulated Price Contract and has prepared a<br />

consultation draft for CCDC 5a – Construction Management Contract Between Owner and Construction<br />

Manager as Agent.<br />

Practice Builder – Building Information Modeling (BIM)<br />

In <strong>2007</strong>, the RAIC produced one Practice Builder, free to RAIC Members, on Building Information<br />

Modeling. This document was also distributed to all those attending the pr<strong>of</strong>essional development<br />

sessions, Integrated Project Delivery through Building<br />

Information Modeling. The document was prepared by the<br />

Survey – Canadian Handbook <strong>of</strong> Practice for Architects<br />

In preparation for a full revision <strong>of</strong> the Canadian Handbook <strong>of</strong> Practice for Architects (CHOP) in<br />

2008, the RAIC undertook a survey <strong>of</strong> members and the provincial associations to identify the best<br />

format for the updated Handbook. The new Handbook will be available electronically and paper<br />

copies still may be purchased, but at a higher price.<br />

Document Nine<br />

The RAIC engaged Alex Rankin, FRAIC to prepare revisions to Document Nine, the Standard Form<br />

<strong>of</strong> Agreement Between Architect and Consultant. He worked with John Bobaljik, FRAIC and<br />

Michael Ernest to propose final contract language to the RAIC Practice Support Committee. The<br />

Practice Support Committee then developed Schedules outlining the scope <strong>of</strong> services and deliverables<br />

for use with Structural Engineers and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. The document was<br />

made available in both <strong>of</strong>ficial languages and in an electronic version on the RAIC website.<br />

Model Architecture Policy<br />

The RAIC continued to advocate to institutions and municipalities about the importance <strong>of</strong> adopting a<br />

policy that ensures quality architecture that is sustainable and good urban design. In <strong>2007</strong>, the RAIC<br />
